Reizigers zullen het voeren van de orang-oetan zien en een wandeling in het bos van Borneo meemaken. Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation is het oudste en grootste orang-oetan rehabilitatiecentrum ter wereld. Dit centrum beslaat 4294 hectare. Kabili-Sepilok Forest is een ongerept oerwoudreservaat dat rijk is aan tropisch regenwoud en mangrovemoeras. Het werd opgericht in 1964 met de bedoeling om verweesde baby-orang-oetans te rehabiliteren en ze weer vrij te laten in het wild. Proboscis-apen in Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, waar je de kastontmoeting kunt ervaren. Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre is het eerste zonneberenbeschermingscentrum ter wereld. De zonnebeer (ook wel honingbeer genoemd) is de kleinste beer ter wereld. Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC): leer over de ecologie van het regenwoud en ervaar de verbazingwekkende biodiversiteit via een netwerk van paden in het bos.

20 minuten rijden naar Labuk Bay Proboscis Sanctuary om de voeding op te vangen om 11.30 uur van Proboscis Monkeys in Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, eigenlijk gelegen op 38 km van Sandakan City en het is gelegen in het centrum van mangrovebossen en dicht bij de kust. De wilde Proboscis Monkeys komen uit de mangrovevegetatie om zich te voeden, aangezien het voedsel wordt geserveerd op hun eigen voorziene voederplatform. Dit is de enige plek in Borneo waar je deze aap van heel dichtbij kunt zien. Normaal gesproken komen er 3 tot 5 groepen Proboscis Monkey uit om te eten. Silver Leaf Monkey en Hornbill zijn misschien te zien in het reservaat
Lunch inbegrepen bij Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort. Het resort is gelegen in het prachtige Sepilok regenwoud. Het is de perfecte bestemming voor natuurliefhebbers, omdat het een unieke kans biedt om jezelf onder te dompelen in het hart van het regenwoud en te genieten van de rust van het bos.
Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Dit is het eerste Sun Bear Conservation Centre ter wereld. De Zonnebeer (ook bekend als honingbeer) is een van de kleinste beren ter wereld. De faciliteiten van het centrum omvatten een berenhuis dat plaats biedt aan 20 beren, 1,14 hectare natuurlijke bosomheiningen waar de zonberen overdag vrij rondlopen en het oude berenhuis en kantoorgebouw dat zal worden omgebouwd tot het bezoekerscentrum.
Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) ligt op 1,2 km van het Sepilok. Leer meer over de ecologie van het regenwoud en ervaar de verbazingwekkende biodiversiteit tijdens een wandeling langs een netwerk van paden in het bos. Bekijk interessante 250 uitstallingen van planten en een 150 meter lange loopbrug biedt een spectaculair uitzicht op het weelderige regenwoud van Sepilok vanaf 25 meter boven de grond. Loop tussen hoge regenwoudbomen en observeer het leven hoog in het bladerdak.

The orangutan sanctuary was disappointing for us as my friend had been and there was a lot more close up encounters with the orangutans as they appeared and walked on the walk boards. For us we just saw them in the nursery and feeding and so no different to the zoo. Whilst I appreciate what the sanctuary is doing and well done to them the experience wasn’t what I was expecting. Be prepared as it’s very busy ! It’s also very hot and humid so be prepared for that. Great experience walking through the rain forest canopy
An excellent tour to see the different animals of Borneo. Orangutan feeding at 10am is amazing to watch, though understandably busy. Take lots of water. The RDC was good, and far less busy, but the animals are by far the attraction here. The sun bears and proboscis monkeys were amazing also!

Such a fun experience! It was just my family and the guide, so we were able to go at our own pace. Our guide timed things so we could see feedings for the Orangatans, proboscis monkeys and the unbearable. We saw so much animal action. And our guide Jackie was awesome. Really friendly, really knowledgeable, and so good at spotting horned bills, snakes etc.
There are so many orangutans! My cell phone camera’s zoom didn’t take great pictures, but the in-person views were great. Bring water because it is hot! No bags are allowed to be carried because the orangutans may try to steal your stuff!

Very friendly guide and driver. We were the only people on the tour, so a private tour for 2! Our guide's English was sometimes hard to understand but he was very informative and helpful. At the end of the day, during the trail through the jungle, my phone fell out of my pocket, through slats on the walkway and into the lake below. I thought it was gone for sure but our guide Jackie knows the rangers well (as he does tours most days) and 2 ranges went wading in, with one going completely under with goggles and all, for about 15 minutes until he found the phone in the muddy lake bed. Unbelievable! And he pulled it out in full working condition (I am writing this review using the same phone). Really impressed by the friendliness, willingness and generally going well above the call of duty by all concerned. Thank you. A traumatic but positive end to a wonderful day full of sights and sounds in the jungle. Highly recommended.
Faisal was an experienced, knowledgeable and outgoing guide. We were at the right places at the right times. We skipped the rainforest research center due to weather. Our choice. Monkeys were worth it, even if a bit away. Even saw an hornbill fairly close.
