Je krijgt de kans om Sepilok Orang Utan te bezoeken, een kans om de orang oetan van dichtbij in hun natuurlijke habitat te bekijken. Bornean Sun bear is een reddings- en rehabilitatiecentrum voor zonberen dat wordt ontwikkeld in Sabah, Maleisië, Borneo. Rainforest Discovery Center is in 1996 geëvolueerd van een klein, gezellig milieueducatiecentrum (EE) tot een van Sabah's populairste EE-centra.

Onze gids haalt je rond 8 uur op bij je hotel of luchthaven. Ga naar de eerste stop bij het Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Het werd opgericht in 1964 om weeskinderen terug te brengen naar het wild. Het centrum werd beheerd door de natuurafdeling van de bosbouwafdeling, die in 1988 werd opgewaardeerd als een afdeling onder het ministerie van Toerisme en Milieuontwikkeling. Alle administratie en beheer werd gegeven aan de nieuwe Wildlife Department van Sabah. Om 10:00 uur ga je naar platform B, observeer de naaste verwant van de mens a 'de orang oetans worden gerehabiliteerd om wild te worden in hun natuurlijke habitat en ervaar een wandeling in het tropische laagland diplous bos van Borneo en bekijk later een 25 minuten durende geplande videodocumentaire show .
Ga dan naar Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, promoot zonneberenbehoud in Borneo door dierenwelzijn, natuurbehoud, revalidatie, onderwijs en onderzoek - gevangene zonberen een beter thuis geven en hun recht om in het wild te leven herstellen door A De capaciteit creëren om geschikte weesberen en ex-in gevangenschap levende beren in beslag te nemen, te rehabiliteren en vrij te laten en een verbeterde duurzame leefomgeving te bieden voor in gevangenschap levende beren die niet kunnen worden vrijgelaten. Het publiek informeren en het bewustzijn over deze soort vergroten. Het bereiken van verhoogde bescherming voor zonneberen en hun leefomgeving door voortdurend onderzoek, verhoogde kennis en bewustzijn, en verdere bescherming van leefomgeving. Ten slotte, bezoek aan het regenwoud Discovery Center. Het is de toegangspoort tot het leren kennen van het unieke en het belang van de regenwouden van Borneo. De belangrijkste hoogtepunten van het RDC, 23 kilometer van de stad Sandakan en niet ver van het revalidatiecentrum Sepilok, zijn de tentoonstellingshallen, de Plant Discovery Garden, het bosreservaat Kabili-Sepilok, milieueducatieprogramma's en een klein meer voor boottochten. De RDC geeft bezoekers ook de kans om intiem te worden met de natuur via het Nature Experience-programma, dat een begeleide wandeling naar de Plant Discovery Garden, Rainforest Walk en indoor / outdoor-activiteiten omvat. Na het voltooien van de bovengenoemde bezienswaardigheden zullen we u afzetten op de luchthaven van Sandakan of uw respectievelijke hotel (alleen in de stad).

Driver was on time and despite some late communication looked after us very well. 40 minute drive, long lines to get in, storage lockers available. Taking a camera cost 10 ringett, no water bottles etc allowed in, phones allowed. Orangutan centre so clean and pristine. Observed nursery and then normal platform. There had been no orang-utans the day before, we had 7 including a baby. Wonderful. One walked past us on the wooden trail. Only disappointment was that there were too many people and the ones at the front of the viewing platforms stayed put the whole time instead of moving away and letting others get a good view. Would suggest some type of timed walkway in front, maybe 5 minutes, and rotate. Into sunbears centre, again lovely. Looking down on them so could only see their backs. Luckily one climbed a tree in front of us and we got a good view. Several Chinese Itourists had food bundles to throw down to the bears. Unfortunately 2 of them threw them directly on the bears head and thought it was funny. No staff accompanied them or told them off. We then went to the Rainforest Discovery Centre and wandered the beautiful grounds. Great views from the canopy tree tower and suspension bridge. There was a little more rubbish here. We had a great lunch in town. Thoroughly enjoyable day. For of us provided a rating out of 10 - 9.5, 9, 9 and 8. Recommended.
Our Driver was very friendly. The 3 activities were very good. RDC was our favourite! 🐒🦧 But to be honest, just book a Grab or Taxi. Our driver did nothing else than driving us, he waited outside and paid our entrance fee and food. Save your money…
Ruined the trip of a lifetime, I had arranged flights from Kota Kinabalu at 06:45 in the morning, meaning a very early start for my family including my 3 kids. Just past midnight, 6 hours before our flight time, the tour operator cancelled our tour. No way to contact them, even though I had paid fully in advance and booked the trip over 2 weeks in advance. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
We had a lovely time and our driver was very helpful getting us there on time and purchasing our tickets, but honestly it would have been much more cost effective to get a Grab for the day and buy our own tickets and lunch.
We had the pleasure of having Siti as our guide on the tour. Our driver Ahmed was very friendly and picked us up from our hotel at the stated time. He then picked up Siti and from the moment we met her she was friendly, informative and a pleasure to be around. I really enjoyed chatting to her as we walked around the Ornagutan rescue, the sun bear sanctuary and the rainforest discovery centre. She also told us useful information and interesting facts. She wasn’t too overbearing and knew when to just let us chat amongst ourselves. By the end of the day we all felt very glad that we’d met her! Would definitely recommend both Siti and Ahmed, together the dream team! And of course seeing the animals and especially the orangutans close up was incredible.

We tried to contact them prior to confirm the pickup location but they did not respond . We even contacted Viator who also could not get in contact with them. On the day we waited for them to pick us up but no one came. We then contacted Viator and filed a complaint. After the complaint they finally got back to us and basically lied by saying they were waiting for us at the hotel.
Amazing tour got to see lots of wildlife with an awesome guide and driver Sitti and JaJa, Cannot recommend enough, lunch was fantastic also, a must do tour if you come to Sandakan
