Full Day Lake Titicaca Tour naar Uros en Taquile Islands is een populaire en de beste manier om getuige te zijn van het leven op deze afgelegen eilanden. Op 3812 meter boven zeeniveau (12506 ft.) wordt het Titicacameer erkend als 's werelds hoogst bevaarbare meer. Het Titicacameer strekt zich uit over de grens tussen Peru en Bolivia. Een groot deel van het meer behoort tot Peru. Het is de thuisbasis van veel verschillende afgelegen eilanden waar visserij en landbouw de belangrijkste bron van inkomsten zijn. De drijvende eilanden Uros, Taquile en Amantani zijn de prominente en staan open voor toerisme. Tijdens deze dagtour bezoekt u de drijvende eilanden Uros en Taquile Island met onze lokale tweetalige (Engels en Spaans) reisexpert. Je krijgt hier inzicht in het leven van de lokale bevolking en hoe ze hun dagelijks leven in stand houden met minimale middelen. De lokale bevolking is hier onaangetast door moderniteit en handhaaft hun eeuwenoude tradities en gebruiken. Ze praten nog steeds in Aymara en Quechua.

Je epische tour begint met een transfer naar de bootpier waar je aan boord gaat van een boottocht van 25 minuten om het leven op de drijvende eilanden van Uros te zien. Als je begint weg te zeilen, krijg je een ongerept uitzicht op de besneeuwde toppen van de Andes op een afstand. Terwijl we de kusten van de Uros-eilanden bereiken, zullen de lokale bevolking u hartelijk verwelkomen en u kennis laten maken met hun leven op dit kunstmatige eiland. De mensen hier spreken Aymara, onze gids zal je een paar woordjes leren zodat je ze in hun taal kunt begroeten. Het hoofd van de gemeenschap zal demonstreren hoe ze deze eilanden bouwen en zal de geschiedenis ervan delen. Indien gewenst kun je hier wat souvenirs kopen. De lokale bevolking biedt dan een korte rit aan op hun totora-rietboot naar het hoofdeiland Uros (tegen een meerprijs van 10 Soles). Je hebt wat vrije tijd om rond te slenteren, het eiland is ook gemaakt van totorariet. Als je eenmaal genoeg hebt gehad van de geschiedenis en uitzichten, beginnen we aan een reis van 2 uur naar Taquile.
Zoals de boot de kust van Taquile Island zou naderen, zal onze lokale expert u een korte informatie geven over het leven van de lokale bevolking hier. Het is bijna 45 minuten lopen de heuvel op naar de top vanwaar u het uitzicht kunt aanschouwen. Taquile is de thuisbasis van het beste handwerk uit de Andes. Mannen breien hier terwijl vrouwen de wol spinnen. Mensen kleden zich hier op basis van hun burgerlijke staat. Onze gids legt je dit uitgebreid uit. Een dorpshoofd geeft je een demonstratie hoe ze de wol verven met groenten. Na een korte introductie stoppen we voor de lunch in een lokaal restaurant. Na de lunch wandelen we terug naar de pier en gaan we aan boord van onze boot voor een terugreis naar Puno. De afstand van 36 kilometer (22 mijl) wordt in ongeveer twee en een half uur afgelegd. We bereiken Puno om 17.00 uur. Onze vertegenwoordiger zal u ontmoeten en u terugbrengen naar uw hotel in het centrum van de stad.

We had an amazing experience on the full day Lake Titicaca Tour with Discover Lake Titicaca. Everything was very well organized from beginning to end, and the day gave us a wonderful insight into the culture and traditions of Lake Titicaca. Our guide, Fausto, was exceptional. He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about the history and local communities. His explanations made our visits to the Uros floating islands and Taquile Island much more meaningful. He was always attentive, happy to answer questions, and made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout the day. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, especially around Taquile Island, and we really enjoyed learning about the traditional way of life, textiles, and customs of the local people. The entire experience felt relaxed, informative, and very well coordinated. A huge Thank You to Fausto and the Discover Lake Titicaca team for making our day so memorable. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Peru, and we would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Puno and Lake Titicaca.
Little content and superficial information regarding the place, the inhabitants, the history, etc., etc. Too much commercial interest in selling you crafts, boat rides, and taking you to lunch at a place that is not accessible to everyone.

A perfect day trip from Puno! One of the guides, Julio, personally picked me up from my hotel and took me to the shuttle bus, which was a great start to the day. I was then placed in Fausto's group, and he was an outstanding guide. His English was excellent, and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the local history and cultures. Pablo was another standout guide who gave entertaining and informative commentary during the boat cruise, making the journey even more enjoyable. Visiting the local families on Uros was a truly special experience, and lunch on Taquile Island was exceptional. We enjoyed delicious quinoa soup followed by fresh trout with Peruvian potatoes, and there was also a vegetarian option available. The transport was comfortable, the entire day was well organized, and it offered fantastic value for money. A must-do experience when visiting Puno!

We did the full day tour with guide Ruben and it was very unique experience. Nancy picked us up from the hotel on the day of the tour and she was very kind and helpful. They also stored our bags while we were on the tour. Taquile island involved a bit of hike but it was very well organised with regular stops. The views were out worldly and the lunch was very delicous. Highly recommend the tour and Discover Lake Titicaca. A big plus if you get Ruben as your guide.

The full day Lake Titicaca tour was an excellent experience. Visiting the Uros Flaoting islands and Taquile Island was fascinating,and the scenery on the lake was stunning. We opted for this full day trip before travelling to Bolivia and we are very happy with everything. The communication, guide, transfers everything was efficient. The guide was very knowledgable. I specially enjoyed the secoond island we visited as it had lot of cultural value and the views were very nice.

This was a perfect day trip from Puno, the pickup was very well cordinated and the guide was very knowledgable and passionate to share information about the local traditions and customs. Lunch was served in Taquile island in a local family restaurant overlooking the valley. Highly reccomend.

Did this full day Lake Titicaca tour and it was perfectly organized, it included visits to two different islands and our guide, fausto was very passionate in sharing his knowledge about the places and culture. Despite the disrupted weather in the morning, everything was great. We had a private tour of the two islands. The sun appeared in a magnificent setting... Two completely different islands... but authentic... Stunning landscapes!

A very friendly guide and professional staff. Everything was perfect from start to end with no unpleasant surprises. The tour included visits to two different islands and locals were welcoming and explained about their traditions and customs. The floating islands was a little touristic but quite different in a pleasant way.
