Stap in de oude wereld van Pucará. Ontdek een van de belangrijkste pre-Inca culturen in de Andes! Pucará is meer dan een stopplaats – het is de geboorteplaats van de hooglandbeschaving in de regio van het Titicacameer, daterend uit 500 v.Chr. Op zijn hoogtepunt strekte deze bloeiende stad zich uit over een volle vierkante kilometer, waar priesters, ambachtslieden, boeren en krijgers woonden. Maar wat Pucará echt onvergetelijk maakt zijn de prachtige monolithische sculpturen en kleurrijke keramiek. Je ziet ingewikkelde ontwerpen – geometrisch, dierlijk en menselijk – die archeologen en bezoekers nog steeds boeien. Dwaal door tempels, voel de oude energie van deze heilige plek en wees getuige van de kunstzinnigheid van Peru's vroegste culturele pioniers.
Welkom op het hoogste punt van uw reis - Abraham La Raya, een adembenemende bergpas die de natuurlijke grens tussen Cusco en Puno markeert. Deze plek ligt op 4.335 meter boven zeeniveau en biedt 360° uitzicht op de besneeuwde Andes, gletsjerstromen en eindeloze luchten. Halverwege uw reis geniet u van een ontspannen lunchbuffet van 1 uur – een smaakvol hoogtepunt van de tour. Deze maaltijd ligt in een schilderachtige Andesstad en toont de rijke culinaire tradities van de hooglanden. Proef een grote verscheidenheid aan authentieke lokale gerechten, waaronder quinoasoepen, gegrild vlees, inheemse aardappelen, verse groenten en traditionele sauzen gemaakt van regionale kruiden. Raqchi, officieel erkend als een van de beste toeristische dorpen, is de thuisbasis van de Wiracocha-tempel – een enorme, 15 meter hoge werd gebouwd door een Inca-keizer ter ere van Wiracocha, de onzichtbare superieure God van het Andesvolk Verken afbrokkelende muren, ceremoniële zalen en oude opslagsilo's die ooit een bruisende Inca-nederzetting ondersteunden. De schaal, de symmetrie en het steenwerk zijn werkelijk verbazingwekkend en bieden inzicht in zowel de spirituele overtuigingen als het technische genie van het Incarijk. Of je nu een geschiedenisfanaat bent of gewoon nieuwsgierig, Raqchi is een van die plekken die lang na het einde van de reis in je geheugen blijft hangen.
Onze reis eindigt met een showtopper – de prachtige kerk van Sint Petrus de Apostel, beter bekend als de “Sistijnse Kapel van de Andes”. Verscholen in een rustig dorp, verbergt deze nederig ogende 16e-eeuwse kerk een interieur van puur visueel drama: altaren met bladgoud, sierlijk houtsnijwerk en fresco's van plafond tot muur die Andestradities combineren met Europese barokstijl. Gebouwd door jezuïeten op een heilige Inca-site, is de kerk een krachtig symbool van de gelaagde spirituele geschiedenis van Peru. This is the best way to get from Puno to Cusco. Kudos to our guide Livario, who was responsible for 51 pax. He was so nice and welcoming, very knowledgeable about Peru and provided entertaining commentary along the bus journey. We were given little snack packs and a bottle of water to start the journey. There was a help yourself tea/coffee station on the bus too. The stops along the way were great. Two highlights were the delightful painting in a studio in Pukara and seeing the snow capped mountain range Apu. The buffet lunch was really top notch. We had a comfortable double decker coach bus with seat recline. An enjoyable way to get from A-B.
Good experience, but the price paid for the attractions did not meet expectations. Museums poor structures (dirty toilet and no toilet paper) and wet terrain in which several tourists fell and injured themselves
It does what it says it will do. It takes you on time between Puno and Cusco, it stops along the way (and the sites are pretty nice, you wish you had more time, in particular in Pukara and in Raqchi), the guide does speak english and spanish and is knowledgeable, and the perfectly nice lunch is included. When you arrive in Cusco, if you wish, they will call a taxi for you. Or you could call your own Cabify... If I had to do it again, I would !

A very nice way to travel from one city to another! Instead of renting a car, being taken care of, stopping at key places, and having additional information about the country and the cities we visit is really great! The chosen activities (with minimal additional costs) were worth the expense!

Great tour. Of course, the time during the stops is very limited, but it is reasonable considering the distance between Puno and Cuzco and potential road delays. The guide is very knowledgeable.
This was the best bus ride I had in Peru. The bus was roomy with very comfortable seats as well as free wifi. There were a lot of interesting stops along the way and it didn’t feel like a 11 hour bus ride. The only thing I would say to be aware of, is that we were told it’s easy to get a taxi when arriving in Cusco. I didn’t find that the situation. Many people on the bus had drivers waiting for them. I would suggest maybe organising a driver before you arrive. Apart from that it was a wonderful experience.

The day with the InkaExpress has been really good. The guide was simply amazing, full of information and a clear love for his land and its history. The tour was rich and very interesting. We had a grand time. The bus is modern and extremely comfortable with large, plushy reclining seats. All in all a grand experience!
