When you consider the distance and that you get entry into the museum, if you’re considering booking this trip you shouldn’t hesitate. Johan, our guide, was extremely knowledgable about Brussels, Belgium, the battlefields and historical sites. He gave a vast amount of information about a wide variety of things, as well as giving time to digest the information given. As well as knowing the route inside and out. The driver, Manuel, was an incredible driver and very skilled at navigating some of the difficult streets, even the tour guide was impressed! It was a long day but broken up and well worth it, for history buffs and people wanting to learn more. I would recommend this trip to anyone interested in booking, but also any of their other trips. This company was brilliant, and I would thoroughly recommend any of their trips. Thank you for such a great day out.
An amazing tour Dertrick was a knowledgeable guide, with a wealth of information on the sites covered. Was particularly impressed, that through chance, the headstone of a VC awardee that Dertrick chose, was from our home State. The bus driver was extremely skilled navigating open roads, and small lanes, weaving such a large bus through some very tight corners.
What an incredible experience to be part and an excursion that you will not forget. Stefan was an incredible guide and he truly loves what he does. It is a long day but one that I will never forget nor will you regret doing. I do wish that we had more time for lunch (only about 25 minutes) but I understand the need to show as much history as you can. I am forever grateful for those who fought in WWI and it was an amazing experience to witness the last post. A "must" activity for those who want to better understand the history of WWI. Thank you, Stefan.
Very well led by an experienced guide, in our case Stefan, who had an excellent personality and was extremely knowledgeable.
Stefan our guide was very knowledgeable about each site we visited, and let us have our own time at each site to really take in the scale of what had gone one. By the end of the day and the last post ceremony had occurred the whole group felt very aware of the risks, the distances and the fear level of the front line
Our guide was without a doubt the most knowledgeable, intelligent, captivating person for our Glanders Field trip. I truly wish for everyone that loves history to have the chance to experience it with the guide we had today. Unfortunately I didn’t quite get his name but “Viator” I’m sure you know it. I truly say it this excursion was fantastic thanks to him. All the stories, the facts, and all the places he took us to were wonderful. Truly one of the best tours I had so far. Again thank you to our guide and our drivers. They were both amazing. I’m just sorry we didn’t have a chance to tell our guide ourselves. Please take this tour. Hopefully you’ll get the guide. You won’t regret it.
This was a superb day out. Our guide was super-interesting, and our driver very professional so we felt to be in expert and safe hands all day. The selection of sites that we visited made for a rounded perspective on WWI, learning about the experiences of the Belgians, French, Germans, and British Empire (as was then) soldiers and civilians. Although the day was long we never got bored, and we learned lots. Would recommend in a heartbeat!
Fabulous in-depth tour of various WW1 sites, battlefields, cemeteries and monuments. Guide Stefan was very engaging, telling the interesting stories and connections of people and hundreds of years of history in gorgeous countryside. Getting a first choice spot for the Last Post bugle ceremony in Ypres was a particular bonus. As a Canadian, Flanders Fields has huge emotional weight and I was so grateful to visit. Very happy to have chosen this particular tour.
Great Experience , great guide , valuable moving day
Well worth the experience. You would need to be interested in hearing and experiencing WW1 history. The guide we had, Fredeick, was fantastic. It's a long 13+ day. There is nice comfortable down time for lunch and tea
