Verken de meest interessante historische bezienswaardigheden van Jaisalmer in één dag, ideaal als je weinig tijd hebt. Bezoek het Gouden Fort ( Sonar Kila ), Jain Tempel in het Fort, Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli, Patwa Ki Haveli, Oude Markt van Jaisalmer en Gadisagar Lake en Vyas Chatri voor een prachtige zonsondergang. U reist comfortabel in een voertuig met airconditioning en geniet van het gemak van ophalen en wegbrengen bij het hotel. Later op de dag kunt u genieten van een middag winkelen in Jaisalmer, waar u een verleidelijke verscheidenheid aan goederen vindt. Zie enkele van de meest kostbare zilveren sieraden, armbanden, kleding, schuim dingen en handwerk etc.

Het fort van Jaisalmer is een levend stedelijk centrum, met ongeveer 3000 mensen die binnen de muren wonen. Het is bezaaid met smalle kronkelende straatjes, omzoomd met huizen en tempels - samen met een groot aantal handwerkwinkels, pensions en restaurants. Je komt het fort binnen vanuit het oosten, in de buurt van Gopa Chowk, en gaat door vier enorme poorten op de zigzaggende route naar het bovenste gedeelte. De laatste poort komt uit op het plein dat het centrum van het fort vormt, Dashera Chowk.
De Jain-tempels zijn een van de oudste tempels in Jaisalmer die zich in het Jaisalmer Fort-complex bevinden. Deze Jain-tempels zijn de belangrijkste religieuze attracties in Jaisalmer. Er zijn in totaal zeven Jain-tempels die in de 12e en 15e eeuw na Christus zijn gebouwd. Deze Jain-tempels zijn opgedragen aan verschillende Jain-tirthankars. Van deze tempels is de grootste de Parsvanath-tempel en deze is het meest aantrekkelijk; andere zijn de Chandraprabhu-tempel, de Rishabdev-tempel, de Shitalnath-tempel, de Kunthanath-tempel en de Shantinath-tempel.
Deze prachtige haveli is gelegen in het hart van de stad in kleine straatjes. Particulier eigendom 19e-eeuwse haveli bekend om sierlijke exterieur houtsnijwerk en unieke architectuur.
De grootste vis in de haveli (traditionele, sierlijk versierde residentie) vijver is Patwa-ki-Haveli, die uittorent boven een smal straatje, zijn ingewikkelde stenen als honingkleurig kant. Verdeeld in vijf secties, werd het tussen 1800 en 1860 gebouwd door vijf Jain-broers die hun fortuin verdienden met brokaat en sieraden. Het is allemaal erg indrukwekkend van buitenaf; de eerste van de vijf secties, het particuliere Kothari's Patwa-ki-Haveli Museum, roept echter rijkelijk het 19e-eeuwse leven op en is de enige die de moeite waard is om voor te betalen. Andere secties zijn twee grotendeels lege 'musea' van de overheid en twee particuliere secties met winkels.
Gadi Sagar meer gelegen ten zuiden van de stad Jaisalmer. Gadi Sagar, een regenwatermeer van Jaisalmer, ligt in een rustige en koele omgeving. Dit sylvanmeer is omgeven door ontelbare tempels en heilige heiligdommen. Het water van dit meer is kristalhelder. Watersporten zoals varen kunnen in dit meer worden gedaan. Het houdt de watervoorziening van de hele stad. Rond het meer zie je talloze trekvogels. Er is ook een beroemde Krishna-tempel gebouwd bovenop de gele zandstenen poort.
De cenotaven hier zijn de meest fantastische bouwwerken in Jaisalmer en een van de belangrijkste toeristische attracties. Opgedragen aan Sage Vyas, die het epische gedicht Mahabharata schreef, heeft Vyas Chhatri prachtige gedenktekens en is het een crematieplaats voor brahmanen. De gele zandstenen cenotaven zijn gebouwd op verhoogde platforms, met ingewikkeld ontworpen chhatris bovenop fijn gebeitelde pilaren. Ze zijn een treffend voorbeeld van Rajasthani-architectuur. Gebouwd op een heuvel, kon je in de verte het Gouden Fort van Jaisalmer zien en een fascinerend uitzicht op de zonsondergang.

It was an amazing day with our guide Marvin to tour Jaisalmer. He was really really knowledgeable and explained everything in details! We visited popular place in Jaisalmer like Fort, Jain Temple and patwon ki haveli. Best part of this tour was a beautiful sunset with large golden fort view. Always smiling and happy to answer our questions! Really recommend this tour!

Jaisalmer is a beautiful place. I took help from DIH for a day tour of the Golden city along with a guide. Mr. Sharma assisted me through the tour. We been to Jaisalmer Fort, Patwo ki haweli, Kuldhara, local market etc. They arranged transport as well as necessary permits. The guide was quite knowledgeable, patient and kind. I had a great experience taking this tour with DIH. I also further took their assistance to get my accommodation and adventure sport services in Sam desert. The stay was comfortable, hygienic with great food. I will surely take their services for my Udaipur and Jodhpur trip as they specialise in Rajasthan tours.

I travelled to Rajasthan for 10 days in Feb 23. It was a family tour across Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer. We got this trip planned by DIH. They managed every single requirement from this trip. Stay, food, travel vehicle, tickets, shopping, hotel etc was managed as per our expectations. I am happy that I tried their services. I am quite satisfied and would recommend it to all who love to travel but don’t want to hustle with the planning of it. DIH is a one stop shop for all your travel needs, literally. It was referred to me by one of my friends. So, I thought to try them for a customised travel itinerary. I did a Delhi, Agra and Jaipur tour with them and some of my friends from Canada joined me on this trip. So, we requested for a custom, offbeat trip for ourselves. It was a 10 days road trip and we had the best time of our lives during this trip. We were 7 people and DIH managed all the travel, stay, food, and day visits to monuments. Jaisalmer was a beautiful city in Rajasthan. It was a family visit to Jaisalmer. It was a 3 day long trip covering the city and one night at Sam desert. DIH organized my travel tickets, hotel stay and a beautiful camp stay as per my requirement. DIH gave us a guide to visit all monuments in Jaisalmer and he explained everything quite nicely. I loved the whole experience of being on this trip. Payment terms were quite transparent with DIH, you may pay via online transfer, cash, cheque. The booking amount was give 50% at the time of the booking and 100% before leaving from Jaisalmer. I love Rajasthan and cnt wait to come again to explore the other cities.

I did my Jaipur tour with Delightful India Holidays in Jan 2023. It was a great experience overall. They arranged day tour to Amber Palace, Jantar Mantar, Patrika Gate, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Nahargarh Fort. The trip was divided in 4 days as I wanted to visit most of the places and not rush it. Rajasthan trip with DIH A friend recommend DIH for travel related bookings. They were know to have travel services across India, however I tried them for Jaisalmer trip. It was a family trip and DIH helped us to prepare a travel plan including best things to explore in the city. They helped us with local guide, vehicle for city travel, hotel, camp bookings. We also enjoyed many adventure activities in the desert 🌵with the help of DIH. The arrangements done by the team was good and well coordinated. I didn't have to worry about anything. Fascinating day trip Jaisalmer city I planned my Jaisalmer trip with the help of DIH team. They were quick to understand my requirements and interest areas while travelling to the city. The day trip in the city was amazing and informative. All thanks to our guide Kamal. We liked their services and did our booking through DIG only. I got amazing property to stay in Jaisalmer city along with a beautiful camp site in the Sam desert. Food at the camp was authentic Rajasthani taste. Camp had various activities which were liked by children like dance, games etc. Highly recommend DIH for making travel arrangements.
