Familie Rafting dagtocht Ottawa River

We stayed 2 nights at Wilderness Camping. We took a Bay Side cottage near the central area of the campsite. The cottage was quite spartan with no ensuite bathroom. The property is beautiful and offers countless things to do: MTB biking, rafting on the Ottawa River, and there are inflatable games in the lake bay. The water was all in all quite warm. The rafting day was great fun 4 hours immersed in nature!! Wonderful!! Normal food. Beware of the cottage you choose, some are motorcycles far from the center area you need the car to reach it

Our blended family had THE BEST time at Wilderness Tours in July. We had the most incredible tour guide for our family rafting day. Is it 🐻 OR 🍺?! 🤣🤣🤣 We ❤️ you, LUCY! 🇳🇿

Reece, Betty and Jack rocks! Amazing guides! The food was really good. I was disappointed to see the staff options for food were lackluster. They need the protein and nutrition far more than the guests. I know this because one staff asked for chicken and were told no. I gave him mine as we had eaten out. BRING A FAN and extension cord if staying in non air conditioned units as they are horrifically hot. There should be air conditioning in All units as temperatures are probably in the 90s in cedar chalet. Beds were comfortable enough though.

Super fun! The guides and staff are really great there. Highly recommend if it's on your bucket list. Memories that will last a lifetime!

Our appointment for rafting was at 12:30 pm, and my family and I were instructed to arrive half and hour earlier; so we did, just to find out that lunch (which was included) was halfway, and we did not have time, unless we ran. We were not informed about it; I tried to get someone to explain the situation, but there was no one. The girl at the entrance was kind enough to switch our lunch for dinner, and even when there was a price difference, she did not charge it. The bathrooms are disgusting, fortunately we just went inside to change clothes. The overall experience was fantastic, these guys take their business very seriously and both safety instructions and COVID-19 precautions were extremely detailed. Thumbs up for the trip leader, Chris, and our guide, Duncan: absolutely professional, fun and experienced. There were ups and downs, but they really made our experience worth it.

We just got back from our awesome Gentle Family Package vacation with WT and cannot thank Casey, Betty, Alex, Viva, Dunc, Buck, Kate, John, Lana, and all the very hard working staff for a wonderful time. All considerations were given for COVID precautions and for maximum family fun. The Ottawa River is a national treasure and WT does an outstanding job of providing thrills and spills. SOOOO MUCH FUN!!! Thank-you! See bald eagles, deer, wild turkeys and beaver lodges was an awesome extra bonus, thanks! See you soon. The Bewers' Family! Also, I am to encourage (heard from a little birdy) Joe to install a human canon on the beachfront at your awesome new location...

I took two 10 year old boys on the Gentle Family Rafting Trip.....Amazing! Viva our guide was the most wonderful educator. She had the boys totally engaged throughout the the whole experience. The boy's and myself learned so much about ecology, geology, and history or the river. They boys learned about whirl pools, rafting skills and safety, they saw eagle nests and an eagle, The learned about the early days of the logging industry and all about beaver lodges. They challenged themselves with body surfing the rapids. They cannot wait to go back. We had a little cottage by the water and enjoyed being surrounded by the spectacular natural setting. During the challenging Covid time the staff preparing and serving meals were well versed in safety protocols yet managed to maintain the most friendly environment. This was ,and it the best summer school ever for kids and adults.

Exceptional!!! I travelled with my family, 2 daughters 12 & 15, their first time, my 15th time. I have been rafting since my 20's now 51 although haven't rafted for about 15 years. I was excited to introduce this sport to my daughters, so we did the gentle family rafting and it was unbelievable! My girls enjoyed it so much they would have done it again but we only booked the one day. Myself, only ever having done the intense rafting the gentle rafting was still amazing, safe, the guides were awesome (thanks Noah! for a great experience!) and very knowledgeable. They talked us through each rapid and provided instructions before we started. Everything is super organized, i was surprised to see how well everything is sanitized before hand and after, the grounds are immaculate - the cleanest campgrounds i have seen! we stayed in a bayside cabin which we absolutely loved! they were clean, mattresses so comfy and spacious! They had kayaks and paddle boards which my girls learned to operate and we used then ALOT! they were in great shape and plentyful! I love that they have a small beach and docks for the kids to jump off of. Another thing i wanted to mention is i have several dietary restrictions and the kitchen staff did a great job accommodating them! I realize that with covid, there had to be some modifications so if it was great during covid, i cant wait to return when we are back to normal! Food also great! Steak dinner AMAZING! excellent options at lunch and dinner, breakfast could have a few more options, eggs are not a daily option and it would be nice to see that daily and maybe bigger portions at breakfast was my husbands only complaint :) It was unfortunate that there was a restriction on the bonfire but we had an amazing singer entertain us on the Friday evening, he was awesome! My only regret is we couldn't stay longer but we are looking forward to returning next summer!

My family loved the experience. All 4 kids had fun with a good balance of gentle and exciting rafting. The guides are great and help make the experience a highlight. We had meals there and stayed the night. The food and cabin were great even during these COVID times we felt safe and relaxed.

The gentle family rafting was excellent.This was my first time and it was an awesome experience.The number one priority for staff was safety first and then fun.Big shout out to VIVA who took us 2 old girls out and my daughter.She was very personable and just a blast to ride with..The boat was filled with laughter.The meals were good ,lots to eat.First night was really confusing as we were staying at old sight ,we received our itinerary but didnt know where anything was and it was a bit confusing.After asking a bike repair guy we went to new sight and realized that's where everything took place.I would just suggest maybe a staff member go down to old sight and just check in with guests to see if there are any questions on their first night of arrival until the new sight is complete.We will definately be back and hopefully will be able to enjoy the full experience of wilderness tours when the new sight is complete.Thanks to all the staff who were enthusiastic and helpful and alot of fun.Thanks for a memorable experience.
