Excursie naar Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain hele dag vanuit Cusco.

De Palyoco-berg is de nieuwe toeristische attractie in Cusco, waar je de klassieke trektocht niet langer dan 5 uur nodig hebt om deze bergketen met kleuren opgevouwen te zien, maar je hoeft maar 30 tot 45 minuten te lopen en je kunt 3 gekleurde bergen waarderen .

we beginnen je tussen 07:00 uur 's ochtends bij je hotel op te halen, daarna gaan we gemiddeld 2 uur en 30 minuten naar het zuiden van Cusco in onze auto
We komen aan in de stad Pitumarca waar we een heerlijk ontbijt zullen hebben, daarna zullen we 1 uur en 30 minuten doorgaan. Tijdens de reis kunnen we het landschap van de Andes en een verscheidenheid aan Zuid-Amerikaanse kameelachtigen waarderen.
We zullen een parkstation bereiken, dan zullen we 40 minuten lopen tot we het uitkijkpunt bereiken, vanwaar we 3 gekleurde bergen en het stenen bos kunnen zien. We hebben 2 uur om veel van deze prachtige plek te waarderen en te verkennen. Daarna keren we terug naar onze auto en gaan naar Pitumarca waar we zullen lunchen en terugkeren naar de stad Cusco

This was well organized and we loved the included breakfast and lunch. Our guide Wally was helpful in meeting the accomodations of our whole group. The views were amazing. Be warned that the car ride is very bumpy and make make some sick. The only downside was the office communication. I had sent multiple messages asking if we could transport suitcases and was finally told we could. The night before I was told we can't, but then they worked it out for us to be able to store our luggage. A bit of a mix up but it worked out in the end.
The drive through the Andes was beautiful, and the stop for breakfast in Pitumarca made it even better. The walk was easy compared to Vinicunca, and the views at the top were breathtaking. Seeing the Stone Forest on the way was a cool surprise. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants the colors of the rainbow mountains without the heavy crowds.
Heber was our tour guide for Palcoyo mountain, he was upbeat and positive and explained every aspect of the tour in both English and Spanish. The tour is very good value considering you are provided with buffet breakfast and lunch, transport and a walking stick. We were also provided with a blanket after the hike which was a nice touch. You are allowed to do the hike independently which I think is really positive as there were some slower paced members of the group and it would be frustrating for us to have missed out on the rock forest if we were waiting for them. But luckily everyone could go at their own pace and Heber would keep an eye on where everyone was. He also took photos for individuals and the group which was nice. This is such a hidden gem still, lovely to explore without the huge crowds you get everywhere else! There was a little bit of confusion with the pick up time - was initially told 4.30 by company and then think Heber was outside at 4.05, however he came back at the agreed time so no issue in the end.
The destination is wonderfull. Not so crowded and very peaceful. The hight is challenging. Would have helped if the guide did not leave the oxigen in the car which was promised to be available during the tour. We went up ot 5000 m. But fortunately we had no real need of oxigen. I very much liked the size of our group. We were just 5 people that day with our guide plus our driver.
