Excursie naar MachuPicchu met trein Vistadome Volledige dag

Great experience. Our tour guide Gregory was fantastic and such a wealth of knowledge. We look forward to coming back to Peru and Machu Picchu.

The train journey was great, although expect delays as it’s a single track line and there are delays whilst waiting for other trains from the other direction to pass. Last moan about the train is that the return journey was terminated halfway back to Cusco with the final leg carried out by replacement buses. That’s no criticism of the tour operator, just PeruRail. A plus though was that the tour operator laid on a taxi when we got back to Cusco to take us the short distance to our hotel. Top marks there. We were guided around Machu Picchu by Greg who was tremendous. He seemed to know everything about this wonderful site and the local area.

Be aware - it is a full day trip (15-16 hrs) with little or no breaks in between. You may not have a chance to grab some food and you are in the mercy of timeline (which was not communicated in advance, but rather shortly the night before the trip). Positives: convenience and worry free to book at the right tickets, knowledgeable guide in Machu Picchu. Organized transport. Negative: We did not have enough time for lunch. Local company book the tickets for us (Machu Picchu, Vista Dome Train and transfers) so you are on the mercy of their timeline (no control). Pick up in the morning - desire better coordination. Driver was late by 45 min, which does make a lot of difference if you have to get up at 2am or 3am. Transfer back to to the hotel - could be much better, as it seems that we travel on local bus and driver was picking up locals rather than transport being specific for tourists. Train trip starts in Ollantaytambo - which requires 2 hr drive from Cuzco. Better to opt for option of the train straight from Cuzco. VistaDome train - probably overrated, not worth as much as the hype (save money).

Machupicchu is an amazing place that is 100% worth visiting. The tour of pimps was magnificent, I was lucky to meet John Pérez who was our guide, his explanations were incredible, besides being an excellent photographer, he supported us with many recommendations, tips and was very personalized the tour.

It was an excellent excursion around a wonderful place with my partner. Guide John explained everything in detail and was very friendly and fun, which made our experience very enjoyable. We will never forget this holiday, thank you very much.

I closed with the agency in August 2024, the main tour was Machupicchu, where I informed that I wanted the ride train that would be in the morning, with the panoramic view sitting in the chair. Now the 14th of October, 1 day before my trip most waiting for machupicchu, which I planned with the agency seller in August, 2 months before. Arriving in Cusco, I went to the location of the agency, to fix the details, I realized that the panoramic was bought for night, what was the meaning of the panoramic night? I complained and was informed that everything was okay, when I left the agency, they sent me a message informing me of the error and that they wanted to return me the money, I had already paid everything, I was already in town, lack of respect with me, insisted that I wanted the panoramic during the day, then they said that they gave a way and was right. On the day of the event, October 15, the train was not panoramic, yet I did everything, because I had nothing to do. I went to the agency to complain about the lack of respect with me and pick up my money back from the side of the panoramic train, they just let me waste 2 hours of my sitting time, where I was traveling to enjoy the city, they didn't recognize the mistake, they didn't give me all the money they should. Unfortunately because of one employee the name of the agency that dirty, I do not indicate this agency, there are others that charge much cheaper and pay much more attention.

It was a great tour, the views are amazing and beautiful, the village of Machupicchu very nice. And our very trained Uber Guide and excellent photographer 🎊
