De tour omvat een bezoek aan Europa's grootste actieve vulkaan: Etna of Mongibello. Als je naar de top gaat, ga je door verschillende landschappen. Vanaf de hoogste punten kunt u genieten van een spectaculair uitzicht dat zich uitstrekt tot het eiland Malta. Etna werd Unesco-erfgoed in 2013. Je kunt omhoog gaan via de weg die leidt naar Rifugio Sapienza (1.923 meter) .Het toevluchtsoord herbergt een goed gevulde bar en een winkelgebied. Ter beschikking van de gasten is ook een groot panoramisch terras, waar u kunt ontspannen en genieten van een prachtig uitzicht over een groot deel van Oost-Sicilië. Vanuit de Refuge kun je, tegen betaling, de kabelbaan nemen tot een hoogte van 2500 meter. Van daaruit kunt u te voet bezoeken of doorgaan met off-road voertuigen, om het kratergebied te bereiken, gelegen op 2920 m.
Taormina is een van de bekendste toeristenplaatsen op het eiland. Eenmaal hier begeleidt de chauffeur u naar Porta Messina, het toegangspunt tot het voetgangersgebied van de stad. Van hieruit kunt u een bezoek brengen aan het historische centrum van Taormina en het schitterende Grieks-Romeinse theater (toegang tegen betaling). U kunt door de middeleeuwse straatjes slenteren, het adembenemende uitzicht bewonderen en de uitstekende gastronomie proeven. Mis het suggestieve panoramische terras met uitzicht op de zee niet, een heerlijke ontmoetingsplaats, het beroemde centrum van het sociale leven van Taormina. Dit alles is Piazza IX Aprile, het beroemdste plein in Taormina dat uitkomt op de belangrijkste stadsstraat (Corso Umberto), met zijn vele terrasjes, religieuze gebouwen en historische gebouwen die het omlijsten. Voor winkelliefhebbers is Taormina de ideale plek om kleding, souvenirs en kunstwerken te kopen.
Aan de voet van Taormina ligt Isola Bella, een klein natuurpareltje, verbonden met de kust door een smalle zandstrook. Kristalhelder water, ongerepte natuur en adembenemende uitzichten maken het tot een van de meest sfeervolle bestemmingen van Sicilië, waar je volop gelegenheid hebt om foto's te maken.

If you have an extra free day in Palermo, you need to do this with Fabrizio! He picked up my family at 8:00 am and drove us to Mt. Etna. It was a long drive(2.5 hours) but we enjoyed every minute of it because Fabrizio taught us a lot about history, current events, architecture, nature and so much more while he drove us to the base of Mt. Etna. It started to rain when we reached the base so we stayed at the souvenir shop/cafe until the rain stopped. We took a lot of photos and videos of the stunning views and the constant rain plus the random lighting! After, Fabrizio drove us to Taormina where we spent 2.5 hours eating a delicious relaxing lunch and shopping at the vibrant shopping scene Taormina is famous for. Fabrizio picked us up where he dropped us off and everyone fell asleep with Fabrizio’s safe and comfortable driving. We all would love to do this again soon! We highly recommend Fabrizio, we voted him as the best guide in Palermo! Thank you Fabrizio!

We had a great time visiting Mt Etna and Taormina with this tour. The only thing is that we would have preferred more time in Taormina and less in Mt Etna, but it was so because of the decisions we made on the options offered at the site. Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun and thought this was worth our time and money, specially being it a private tour for our group. Our driver, Marcello, was wonderful and did everything he could to accommodate our requests.
Our driver was cordial and punctual but the published itinerary seems to be impossible as we went up the Mt Etna with cable car plus 4x4 bus. The bus in the mountain was unpredictable. We ended up spending all our time at Mt Etna.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us feedback. Unfortunately the journey from Palermo to Etna is about 3 hours, to add the journey to Taormina and the return. This is why the time to spend on Etna and in Taormina is about 2 hours for each stop. If the customer wishes to spend more time at one of the two stops, obviously there is no time left for the other stop. Consider that the tour planned in this way has a duration of about 12 hours including the road journey. We are happy that your experience on Etna was fantastic and thank you for the 5 stars.
Claudio was my guide and he was great. I found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful as I navigated around Mt Etna and Taormina. He made sure I got to see and enjoy the coast and stopped for photo ops. I really enjoyed this tour. I had enough time to enjoy each stop.

Plan for a long day but with Claudio it was an extraordinary experience. He was punctual, professional and an excellent driver and very knowledgeable of the entire island of Sicily. We were very pleased with the tour and would highly recommend Claudio.

Taormina was fabulous and would absolutely go back. Etna was beautiful but I would prefer to spend more time in Taormina. Marcelo our guide was wonderful.
