Dagtrip naar Essaouira vanuit Marrakech

Soufiane was a great guide to discovering the secrets of Morocco. He accompanied us from the Medina of Marrakech to the beaches of Essaouira until discovering Berber culture on the summits of the Atlas. Always punctual, helpful and kind.

Our family of four took a break from busy Marrakech and enjoyed a day trip to Essouira. The drive is pleasant, we saw the argan tree goats, and preferred the Essouira shopping over the Medina. We also did an hour of horseriding on the beach. But what made this trip so special and unforgettable was our driver, Hamza. From the moment he picked us up, Hamza was enthusiastic, informative, and friendly. He took great care that we got what we wanted out of our trip, and I really enjoyed talking to him throughout our drive. We absolutely loved our day together! And then I got injured on the beach while horseriding. Hamza miraculously appeared at the beach in his van when I could barely even stand. He walked out in the sand because the van couldn't make it (he tried, but the sand was too deep) and helped me and my entire family. We blew well past our scheduled time together, but Hamza emphasized that he cared more about my well-being than this evening plans. This was during Ramadan, so he missed breaking fast at home with his loved ones, and instead had to pull over at a roadside restaurant to break fast with a few traveling strangers. During our long drive home, he constantly checked to make sure I was ok and that my family was ok. He also took us to the hospital that night in Marrakech. He stayed and waited with us for over two hours to ensure we got the care we needed and to translate for us. We told him that he could leave, but he insisted on staying with us and then drove us home only after we were done. Hamza reassigned his other pick-ups that evening and also missed his midnight dinner at home because he wouldn't leave our side. We travel often and meet with lots of great guides, but I will never forget Hamza's kindness and the sincerity of his care that day.

Hamza, our guide taxi picked us up right outside our riad, he had bought us bottles of water for the ride, along the road, we had information about the landscapes, Moroccan culture, we were able to take pictures, we visited a cooperative manufacturing argan oil, the staff was very friendly. Arriving in Essaouira, Hamza had already warned the restaurant where we had a delicious meal. Everything was perfect! On the return, we were dropped off again in front of our riad, a beautiful day very well organized, bravo Hamza! We were 5 adults and we all appreciated the kindness and delicacy of Hamza, if we return to Marrakech we hope to have a guide as competent and professional as him.

The driver was very punctual. He was very professional showing up in a suit. He allowed us to have as much time as you want to explore Essaouira. Furthermore, The supplier and Viator We’re happy to accommodate change in pick up time but also a change in pick up location. They’re also very happy to accommodate our request to visit Agadir as well on the same trip. This change of plan did not happen as it would’ve had almost 4 hours to our trip. However, the trip Provider and the driver responded quickly to our messages and were able to fit our needs in their schedule. You will receive a message from the driver the day before your trip. He was fluent in English and I was able to easily communicate with him.

We had an excellent guide/driver who explained the history and took us to all the sites. He was very accommodating and caring and we felt very comfortable with him. We would definitely use his services again and highly recommend him!

Hamza drove us to Essouaria from the Medina in Marrakesh. The van was nice and air conditioned and the ride was really comfortable. We got to see some of the different landscapes during the drive. We stopped at an argon oil place on the way and they were nice / did not pressure us to buy anything. The trip went smoothly for pickup and drop off and Hamza told us a bunch of interesting things along the way about local music and culture. It was a long drive but Essouaria is a nice break from the city if you want a beach day.

Had a wonderful experience with Morocco SM Tours. A friend referred them and we weren't disappointed. I organised two days of touring with Soufiane and he was very helpful. He nominated Yassine to be our driver and we couldn't have had a nicer man showing us his world. He drove us to the Atlas Mountains and to a pre-arranged guide who took us to Ourika Waterfalls. We visited a Berber house and stopped at various handicraft enterprises on the way. And we ate lunch with our feet in the fresh river water from the mountains. Day two and we headed to Essaouira which was delightful. A walk along the beach, a visit to the Medina for a calmer pace of shopping and a beautiful fish lunch by the sea. Yassine made our experience so much more enjoyable, explaining the sights and sounds of his country. Nothing was too difficult. I would recommend this company to anyone wanting to experience the real Morocco in the hands of really warm and friendly people.
