San Sebastian’s reputatie als de beste voedselstad ter wereld is verdiend. Tijdens deze wandeltocht laten we je zien waarom. In drie uur tijd ervaar je de echte Baskische keuken in twee iconische wijken: trendy Gros en de historische oude binnenstad, waar de pintxos-cultuur werd geboren. Uw lokale Gids laat u kennismaken met bars die eigendom zijn van een familie en wereldberoemde eetgelegenheden, elk met smaken die het verhaal van het Baskische culinaire erfgoed vertellen. Van perfect bij elkaar passende Mosto spritz tot de zoete finale van traditionele pantxineta, elke hap verbindt je met eeuwenlange traditie. Je ontdekt de sagardotegi (ciderhuis) ervaring, beheerst de kunst van txikiteo en begrijpt hoe de lokale bevolking deze smaken perfectioneerde lang voordat de wereld het opmerkte.

Gelegen in Gros, zal dit levendige lokale plein uw eerste glimp van het dagelijks leven in San Sebastián zijn. Omlijst door de kerk van San Ignacio, bars en winkels, komen gezinnen hier samen, op slechts een steenworp afstand van onze nabijgelegen eerste proefhalte.
Stap binnen in een gastvrije bar die door een familie wordt beheerd en gewijd is aan traditionele Baskische smaken. Geniet van hun kenmerkende pintxo : gegrilde paddenstoelen met rijke foie gras en romige alioli op knapperig brood, perfect gecombineerd met een verfrissende zurito, het favoriete kleine tapbier van de lokale bevolking.
Ontdek een charmante buurtwijnwinkel in het hart van Gros, bekend om zijn lokale biologische wijnen en bieren. Geniet hier van een verfrissende alcoholvrije mosto spritzer, bouw je eigen Gilda en proef Gazta Zaharra, een pittige herderskaas gemaakt van overgebleven Idiazabal kaas.
Tussen Hotel Maria Cristina en Teatro Victoria Eugenia ontdekt u het Belle Epoque-erfgoed van San Sebastián. In de buurt, spot de Kursaal en Zurriola Bridge, die Gros verbinden met het centrum met uitzicht op de rivier en surfers op weg naar de golven.
Deze echte Donosti-instelling werd opgericht door vier broers en zussen om een buurtbar te creëren die geworteld is in kwaliteit, warme service en gemeenschapszin. Kies een pintxo die je opvalt en combineer deze met rode wijn, tinto de verano of een klassieke kalimotxo voor een echte lokale ervaring.
Het La Bretxa-plein, genoemd naar een bres die Napoleons troepen maakten tijdens het beleg van de 19e eeuw, is nu een bruisend centrum waar de lokale bevolking winkelt voor verse vis, vlees en producten, een levendig kijkje in het alledaagse Baskische leven in het stadscentrum.
Deze halte ligt aan de iconische straat 31 de Agosto, een van de oudste straten van San Sebastián, en brengt u naar een geliefde lokale bar die aanvoelt als een deur naar het verleden van de stad. Bernardo, zijn 70 - jaar oude Eigenaar, begroet bezoekers met een warme glimlach en een levenslange toewijding aan de Baskische keuken. Hier geniet u van een speciale proeverij van malse gegrilde inktvis met aardappelen pintxo, prachtig gecombineerd met een glas Txakoli, een droge witte wijn van de Baskische kust.
Maak je klaar voor een authentieke Baskische ciderhuis ervaring in de oude binnenstad. Je proeft sappige txuleta steak met gezouten padrón pepers en vangt cider die rechtstreeks uit het vat wordt gegoten in het traditionele txotx ritueel!
Voor een zoete finale bezoeken we de oudste banketbakkerij van de stad, geopend sinds 1886. Hier proeft u het originele recept van de iconische pantxineta : een schilferig bladerdeeg gevuld met rijke banketbakkersroom en geroosterde amandelen. Je neemt het mee om het te gaan proeven op de boulevard als het perfecte einde van je tour.

- Houd er rekening mee dat de genoemde proeverijen een selectie zijn van de heerlijke gerechten die we vaak aanbieden. Zowel het aanbod als de tourstops kunnen per dag of seizoen verschillen, maar u zult zeker genieten van een heerlijk scala aan lokale smaken!

Incredibly cool food tour of 3 different neighbourhoods in San Sebastian. Kristina our guide was lovely. A resident of 20 years. She showed us a real mix of spots...pinxos, but also different scenes like cider houses and other cool bars. Great knowledge of the history and culture as well. And very relaxed vibe overall. The value for money is amazing. 6 tapas + 6 drinks included along with the tour. And she also gives you a full list of other spots to hit up. Highly recommended!
We had an amazing experience w Ines on a walking food tour of San Sebastián. She was pleasant , were knowledgeable and made the experience wonderful . Excellent way to learn about eating and the restaurant experience in San Sebastián. I am happy my daughter and I did the tour early in our trip. Our guide also provided great information about the town, culture, history and everyday life of the Basque region. Highly recommend!

The best way to see, eat and experience San Sebastián! Ines was a fantastic guide and took us to a great mix of tabernas and outlets across the old and newer parts of town. She was conscientious of food preferences, very accommodating to my (never on time) family, and gave us a memorable experience from start to finish. Brilliant experience and a wonderful opportunity to try the lesser known taberna and menu items, as well as hear about local customs, and history. Highly highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time with Iri on the Beyond Pintxos tour of San Sebastian! Iri is fun, personable, full of positive energy, and really loves this region. We learned so much beyond just the food. The tour started outside of the Old Town and gave us a taste of some very local places. There was a good variety of food and alcoholic drinks and we were all full at the end of tour. And each of the stops were unique with a different vibe. Highlight was grilled squid with Txakoli, one of the best we ever had. We ended at a classic pastry shop whcih was perfect. Highly recommend this tour.
