Dit is niet zomaar een fietstocht. Het is een volledige halve dag ontsnappen in de wijngaarden, dorpen en smaken van Entre-deux-Mers, en de enige e-bike tour in Bordeaux die het allemaal samenbrengt. Je Gids ontmoet je in het centrum van Bordeaux, overhandigt je een premium e-bike en je gaat langs het historische Roger Lapébie-pad, een voormalige spoorlijn die een prachtig fietspad is geworden. Meer dan 30 km (ongeveer 20 mijl), met 95% op speciale fietspaden, rijdt u door een rustig platteland en een prachtig uitzicht op de wijngaard. Makkelijk, plat en absoluut mooi. U stopt bij een traditioneel wijnhuis voor een begeleide proeverij van maximaal drie lokale wijnen, en leert wat Entre-deux-Mers zo speciaal maakt. Ga vervolgens zitten in het middeleeuwse bastidestadje Sadirac voor een echte regionale lunch, het soort maaltijd dat je eraan herinnert waarom de Frans lunch zo serieus nemen. Tijdens onze tour beginnen we bij het pittoreske Jardin Public, waar u hartelijk wordt ontvangen en een korte, boeiende introductie krijgt over de rijke geschiedenis van de regio. Deze sessie van 10 minuten dompelt je niet alleen onder in het fascinerende verleden van onze streek, maar zorgt er ook voor dat je goed voorbereid bent op de reis die voor je ligt. We behandelen essentiële veiligheidsinformatie en geven een duidelijk overzicht van het avontuur, waarmee we de weg vrijmaken voor een onvergetelijke ervaring.
In Palais Gallien in Bordeaux gaan reizigers terug in de tijd terwijl ze de overblijfselen verkennen van een groots Romeins amfitheater, dat ooit plaats bood aan meer dan 15.000 toeschouwers. Je zult je verbazen over de indrukwekkende stenen bogen en torenhoge ruïnes die de grandeur van de oude Romeinse architectuur oproepen. Terwijl we door deze historische plek dwalen, deel ik boeiende verhalen en inzichten over de gladiatorenspelen en gebeurtenissen die hier ooit plaatsvonden, waardoor het verleden levendig tot leven komt. Op Place de la Bourse in Bordeaux zullen reizigers gefascineerd zijn door de prachtige 18e-eeuwse architectuur van dit iconische plein, dat de rijke handelsgeschiedenis van de stad symboliseert. Je zult het symmetrische ontwerp en de majestueuze gevel van het Palais de la Bourse bewonderen, prachtig weerspiegeld in het nabijgelegen Miroir d'eau, 's werelds grootste reflecterende zwembad. Terwijl we door het plein slenteren, zal ik fascinerende anekdotes delen over de constructie ervan, de rol ervan in het handelsverleden van Bordeaux en de betekenis ervan vandaag de dag. De mix van historische verhalen en adembenemende uitzichten maakt dit een must-see hoogtepunt van onze tour.
Bij de Pont de Pierre in Bordeaux zullen reizigers de charme ervaren van deze historische stenen brug, die de rivier de Garonne overspant en de linker- en rechteroever van de stad met elkaar verbindt. Je zult onder de indruk zijn van het elegante ontwerp, met 17 majestueuze bogen, die elk een letter symboliseren van de naam 'Napoleon Bonaparte', die de opdracht gaf voor de brug. Terwijl we er overheen lopen, kunt u genieten van een panoramisch uitzicht op de schilderachtige waterkant en skyline van Bordeaux. Ik zal intrigerende verhalen delen over de bouw van de brug in het begin van de 19e eeuw, de technische uitdagingen en het belang ervan voor de ontwikkeling van de stad. Floirac ligt op de rechteroever van de rivier de Garonne en biedt een schilderachtig uitzicht op de skyline van Bordeaux. Tijdens ons bezoek verken je het Parc des Coteaux, een uitgestrekt park met weelderig groen, wandelpaden en panoramische uitkijkpunten, perfect voor een ontspannen wandeling of een picknick. Een van de hoogtepunten van Floirac is de Arkea Arena, een moderne concertlocatie waar een verscheidenheid aan optredens en evenementen plaatsvinden. Afhankelijk van het schema kunnen we een liveshow bijwonen of gewoon de hedendaagse architectuur van deze ultramoderne faciliteit bewonderen. Terwijl we door de schilderachtige straatjes van Floirac dwalen, vertel ik verhalen over de geschiedenis van het gebied, zijn rol in de wijnindustrie en zijn transformatie tot een levendige gemeenschap. Dit deel van onze reis biedt een heerlijke mix van natuur, cultuur en lokale sfeer, en biedt een goed afgerond kijkje in het leven buiten het stadscentrum van Bordeaux.
In Bouliac ervaar je de serene charme van dit pittoreske dorpje gelegen op een heuvel met uitzicht op Bordeaux. Bouliac staat bekend als het 'Balkon van Bordeaux' en biedt een adembenemend panoramisch uitzicht over de stad en de rivier de Garonne beneden. Ons bezoek omvat een wandeling door de schilderachtige straatjes, omzoomd met traditionele stenen huizen en prachtig onderhouden tuinen. Een van de hoogtepunten van Bouliac is de Église Saint-Siméon, een historische kerk waarvan de oorsprong teruggaat tot de 12e eeuw. Je bewondert charmante wijngaarden en traditionele Franse huizen terwijl we ons verdiepen in het rijke wijnerfgoed van het dorp. In Sadirac zullen avonturiers de serene schoonheid ontdekken van dit schilderachtige dorpje, gelegen in het hart van het wijnland van Bordeaux. We had a wonderful time on the tour. A great mix of history, wine and bike ride. You ride through the city and out into the beautiful countryside. We visited a cute chateau to taste wine and learn the history before lunch in a very local spot. Our guide was helpful with making me feel comfortable on the bikes and navigating the bike lanes and trails. It was very hot the day we went but the breeze while riding made it not so bad and it was an enjoyable ride.

I've done a lot of wine tours before but never by e-bike which was a great way to do it, as you cover loads of distance and it's easy on the legs. The route along the river was gorgeous and quiet, lots of wildlife, pretty houses and forest with only locals using it. The chateau was stunning and the tour and wine tasting there was interesting, with us being the only tourists . Down the road we had a three course meal, best steak I think I've ever had! All in all the trip was incredibly fun and huge value for money.

¡Genial! Aquí tienes la versión completa en inglés: I took part in two bike tours. The first was with Mika, a very kind and fun guide, who shared some of the city’s history with us. Then we headed out to the Bordeaux countryside, surrounded by nature. The ride was easy with e-bikes, and I enjoyed it a lot. At the wine tasting, we learned about the wine-making process, the team was very attentive, and we even brought a few bottles of wine home. The food was excellent, with a variety of dishes and a great atmosphere. The next day, I had a tour with Flavie, an incredible, energetic, and kind guide. This tour was within the city, immersing us in Bordeaux’s history and culture. In the end, it was a completely different experience from any I had had before, and I had so much fun. I was left with a great impression of both guides and the beautiful city they showed us. Mika and Flavie would answer all my questions in Spanish. Even though I understood almost everything they said, if something slipped by, they would respond perfectly in Spanish. Without a doubt, I would return to Bordeaux and do more tours with them.

We did the cycling tour of Entre-deux-Mers with Monsieur Bacchus and it was, without a doubt, one of the best experiences we have lived in the Bordeaux region. The adventure began in the historic center of Bordeaux where Mika —our guide and also owner of the project — welcomed us with an exciting introduction about the history of the city. We wander among iconic monuments, each accompanied by anecdotes and data that only someone who deeply loves this place can share. Then we crossed the magnificent Stone Bridge, built under Napoleon Bonaparte, and from there we started the tour to the countryside. The landscape changed completely in a very short time: vineyards, small rural roads and absolute tranquility. Our stop at the family winery Château Grand Verdus was a real privilege. They opened the doors to us as if we were guests for a lifetime, and the tasting was both intimate and very instructive. Later, we enjoyed a regional lunch with entree, plate and dessert. The food was delicious and served with a cordiality that perfectly completed the experience. In total it was almost six hours of discovery, history, nature and wine. We learned a lot about the region and its wine traditions. An authentic, humane and highly recommended tour. Mika was outstanding!

We enjoyed a really fun day, on our electric bike trip from Central Bordeaux out to the countryside, with a great wine tasting experience & delicious lunch. Good time. Michael was our host (and guide) on our jaunt through the French countryside. A little light rain in the morning didn’t dampen our spirits and it turned out to be a glorious day. The e-bikes were great, the wine tour and tasting was brilliant and lunch was excellent as well. Can’t say enough about this tour. Do it, well worth the time and the money.
