Reis door bergtunnels en prachtige fjorden tijdens deze kustexcursie van een halve dag naar de Dynjandi-waterval. Beginnend bij de haven van Ísafjörður, het belangrijkste hoogtepunt van deze tour in de Dynjandi-waterval, een van de beroemdste watervallen van IJsland. Het is echt een must als je de westelijke fjorden bezoekt. Er wordt vaak gezegd dat het lijkt op een bruidssluier, taps toelopend naar de breedste op 60 meter aan de onderkant. Ga door met het huwelijksthema en proef Hjónabandssæla-cake, een traditionele cake tijdens je stop bij Gemlufell, een traditionele werkende boerderij. Deze creatie van haver- en rabarberjam vertaalt zich in het Engels als huwelijksgeluk.

Het ontmoetingspunt voor deze tour is de aanlegsteiger van het cruiseschip in Ísafjörður. Ísafjörður wordt steeds populairder als aanloophaven voor cruiseschepen. Als iedereen aan boord is, gaan we de stad uit en nemen de bergtunnel van Vestfjarðagöng. Wanneer we uit de tunnel aan de andere kant van de berg komen, wagen we ons verder door een reeks kleine dorpjes, prachtige fjorden en steile bergen, voordat we Dynjandi bereiken.
De Dynjandi-waterval is een van de hoogste en mooiste watervallen van IJsland. Bestaat uit verschillende convergerende watervallen, het water valt van vele richels naar het breedste punt onderaan. De rijtijd van Isafjordur naar Dynjandi is ongeveer 40 minuten, met prachtige en ongerepte landschappen om onderweg van te genietenþ Dynjandi spreekt de afgelopen jaren tot de verbeelding van reizigers naar IJsland.
Na de adembenemende plekken bij Dynjandi gaan we terug richting Ísafjörður, maar niet voor een extra stop. We bezoeken de charmante Gemlufell Farm, een typisch IJslandse boerderij gelegen in een idyllische omgeving aan de kustlijn van de Dýrar fjord. Het dagelijks leven in deze afgelegen boerderij is zo rustig, en u kunt genieten van deze omgeving onder het genot van gratis thee, koffie en een traditionele IJslandse taart genaamd Hjónabandssæla. Deze haver- en rabarberjamcake vertaalt zich losjes als Happy Marriage cake!

The waterfall was wonderful. I’d recommend you skip the fee arm. I didn’t see the point. Thor was a great guide!
Rocky walking up to waterfalls. The guide Hilli was very knowledgeable. He told us a lot a stories. Beautiful scenery.
Really enjoyable trip. Our guide Sven was fun and informative, and our driver John kept us safe. The waterfall was spectacular, we had 70mins there and because the weather got better and better as the day went on it would have been nice to have had even more time there. Nice rhubarb cake at the farm, and a chance to see a few Icelandic horses. Superb scenery all the time on the coach and at the stops - definitely recommend this trip
Great tour! The stop at the waterfall is great. It is a good hike up the side to get to the top of the view points. There are stops along the way as well. The farm stop was unexpected but fun nonetheless. They let their 12 year old son lead the farm tour. It was hilarious. Not really what you would think of when you think of a farm but it entertaining to say the least. Highly recommend this tour. Our guide Tom was the best.
Beautiful waterfall; could be experienced right from the drop off point, but also offered multiple walk/climb options for different perspectives. The farm was modest, but had friendly owners who provided insights into Icelandic life in the north. Several Fjords, two tunnels added to the experience.
Tom, our driver / guide gave a houmous and insightful talk about the attractions on the tour and all things Icelandic! The bus was well driven and was comfortable and clean. The Dynjandi waterfall was spectacular and we had plenty if time there. We had a very warm welcome at the farm, offered a hot drink (tea, coffee, or hot chocolate) and a piece of the superb 'happy marriage cake. There was also good access to the animals with the farmer answering questions on farm life in this area of the country. Tom sang a traditional Icelandic song on the way back to Isafjordur. Perfect tour - Thank you!
The driver, Tom, was very informative about the culture and added some entertainment along the way. This is our first time experiencing a driver who is also gifted with tour guide communication skills.
What a beautiful experience and our tour leader (Captain Thor) just made it 10x better!!! I’ve had my fair share of tours but this one was one of, if not, the best tour thanks to our leader/driver
Tom was an excellent driver and guide. The bus pick up was right in the cruise port area. Tom gave us lots of information in the time we were on the bus. The farm stop was fun. We got hot chocolate , tea or coffee with “ happy marriage cake”. The waterfalls were breathtaking. On the return, we were even serenaded by Tom. He is a great singer. It really was. Great trip.
Wow what a great tour with our outstanding guide Tom who entertained us all the way in and out in the Icelandic culture, history, infrastructure, economy, language, food and music! We even got stupendous live show with a famous song. We will remember for a very long time these 3,5 hours that went by too quickly! Thank you very much 😊
