We had a very thorough view of the traditional Zulu culture, history of sugarcane fields and the growth of the large Indian community and the modern architecture of Durban on this tour. Our tour guide, Moses, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable so this made the tour interesting. We added a safari option and were pleased when we got to observe giraffes and zebras up close, in their habitat and with their families.

Thamsamqa,a self described proud Zuluman gave us a wonderful tour of Durban the city with the history of of the effects of apartheid on the Zulus and the Durban area. We toured the beautiful beaches before the scenic drive through the Valley of 1000 hills. From a stunning viewpoint we enjoyed the historic story of Traditional Zulu culture and the the reptile park It was feeding time for the crocodiles and then an amazing snake demonstration. Wow! Back to Durban we visited the Indian market before a stop at the famous Botanical Gardens. This is a must see and the guided tour is amazing and well worth the extra fee. Vishnu was great. Finally through the city past historic buildings - city hall and post office. What wonderful day in Durban thanks to one of the best guides ever, Thamsamqa!

Good Day, Thank you for taking time to provide us with your feedback. We are delighted that you had a pleasant day.
We waited 75 minutes at the pier for the vehicle.Telephone came the message that the departure was agreed 1 hour later. It turned out, however, that our guide was on time, but did not identify herself , as she probably waited for a spontaneously better "business" had hoped. When we were the last to stand at the pier, she then suddenly stood in front of us with our name tag!The vehicle was already 75 minutes there!VERY WEIRD!!!!?????
The tour guide-Thabo- made the experience special with his enthusiasm and great knowledge. We started off seeing the medicine market which is something I have never witnessed in my life before. It is not for the squeamish. The ride out to the 1000 Hills is very pleasant and throughout a well driven drive we were given many facts and figures. The Zulu village is situated within a croc/reptile exhibition and having been on a game drive seeing animals living freely, seeing other animals in these poor conditions doesn't feel right. The Zulu show was OK and at half an hour was about the right time. It is a bit contrived but understandably so. The drive back was equally interesting and we finished with a tour of the city which again was delivered with great passion and knowledge by Thabo.

Thanks to our excellent and courteous guide David Mathonsi we saw everything we wanted to see and more. He found the most convenient stopping places for us to take photographs of the sights. His knowledge was extensive ensuring we came away with a deeper understanding of the area and its culture. We particularly enjoyed visiting the Indian market, full of colour and sensory experiences, the tranquility of the Botanical Gardens and widening our understanding of apartheid through visiting the museum. Having enjoyed lunch at the Pot and Kettle in the heart of The Valley of a Thousand Hills we were treated to a memorable display of singing and dancing in PheZulu village. A perfect day.

A pleasant drive to the Valley of 1000 hills, nice scenery.
Guide showed us different parts of the city, visited a museum. Very enthusiastic in helping us to understand the history and culture of Durban.
