We left Tel Aviv and arrived to Jerusalem on time, but that’s about all that went well today. When we got to Jerusalem, we had to wait an hour because the bus broke down, which delayed leaving for Masada. We didn’t get there until around 11am and then a family went missing near the bathrooms, which delayed us starting until about noon. The tour felt lackluster and rushed. We ended up getting to lunch at 2:30pm and were told to be back at the bus at 3:15pm, which was plenty of time. But the same family showed up 30 minutes late. We arrived at the Dead Sea at 4pm and were told to be back at the bus by 5pm. We arrived so late that we only really had 30 minutes to enjoy in the water with changing on both ends and the sun going down. But guess who didn’t make it to the bus by 5, or 5:15 even? The same family. Our tour guide, Liat, was annoyed but didn’t do anything until my husband pointed out to her that this family had disrespected everyone’s time. As the guide, it’s her job to manage the large group. She could’ve pulled them aside or hurried them along faster. We were supposed to get back to Tel Aviv between 6 and 7pm, but didn’t make it back until 7:30pm. Also, the tour site didn’t advertise or market that they not only drive through the West Bank but stop inside it. While it was fine, it definitely should’ve been forewarned. It was not expected and caused a bit of anxiety. Overall, you’re better off renting a car and driving to Masada and the Dead Sea. The audio guide tour of Masada is probably more informative than what we got, and the lack of time management made this frustrating.
THank you for this feedback however disappointing it was . We value such sharing as we are held accountable for our tour management. We can certainly apologise for the bus mechanic breakdown. But nothing that we could forwarn about. LAtecomers are an issue all tours contend with and a source of frustration to all travelers. Agreed,As a result of both these(totally an un usual!!!! event to both happen!)Yes the tour shedule was highly disrupted, YOu may be aware from all other reviews on this platform this is certanly not a common occurence. Our professional guides make every effort for smooth tour managment as well as using skills for problerm solving when they occur in the best and quickest way possible. We donot advertise details regarding the ways taken to reach the Dead Sea Region, We may add that a group tour does require consideration by all those paritcipating to their fellow travelers. We continue to strive to provide tour services of the highest standard and judging by reviews we maintain is generally, but here there are exceptions and this was certainly one of them.
This review is a little overdue. I took the Dead Sea Tour that included Jericho and the Jordan River this past summer with Bein Haim Tourism Services. This tour is not for the faint hearted especially during the summer. For example, Jericho was fairly steep for me and the trail up to the top of Mount Temptation was a hot challenge even after a cable car ride. Nevertheless, Bein Haim Tourism Services provided us efficient and cool transportation and tasty fare. Our tour guide Yoav Malachi was also extremely knowledgeable and helpful, being very patient extending a helping hand when needed to ensure everyone was well hydrated, comfortable and safe. Wearing a hat is highly recommended. Thank you, Yoav, for your cheery kindness in the sweltering heat. I learned a lot and look forward to my next visit.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you had a well-run and smooth experience on the Dead Sea Tour with Bein Harim Tours. It's great to know that Yoav Malachi provided excellent guidance and ensured the safety and comfort of all guests, especially in the summer heat. We appreciate your recommendation and look forward to welcoming you on your next visit!
We didn’t get what we signed up for. We were supposed to have ~ 2.5 hours at the dead sea after making a few stops before. Well first we stopped at some cheesy Elvis rest stop for coffee. There was no significance of this nor was it needed. Our guide asked asked if we wanted to go with rest of group to Masada. We said no we had been already that’s why we booked Dead Sea only. After, we stopped at the lowest point sign as advertised which was good. Then they dropped us off at the Dead Sea at 930am and said they’d be back and we’d all leave at 330pm. That seemed long but at the time didn’t realize how long that was. That was way too long. But to make matters worse at 330 we found guide and he said it was now moved to 430pm. At that point we said no we need to leave. This was way longer than what we signed up for. We were supposed to be back in Tel Aviv at 440pm according to our confirmation. Anyway the guide did find us another ride back. He was great But the trip itself was not at all what we signed up for. Don’t advertise 2.5 hours at the Dead Sea when it’s really 6-7. Wouldn’t not use this company agsin
Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent tour experience. We apologize for the discrepancy between your expectations and the actual itinerary during the tour. It is important to us to ensure that our guests receive the experience they signed up for and that we coordinate expectations effectively.
The worst experience ever, it is just a drop off in the middle of the Dead Sea without consideration of the weather and the time that they left you there (almost 8-9 hours). There is no sense, you can’t be more than 20 minutes in the water (and they suppose to think that you will be in the sun more than 8 hours) No water, no tour, and the conditions of the place are awful The worst tour that I have ever been
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback regarding your experience at the Dead Sea. We would like to clarify that our Dead Sea relaxation offering is not a guided tour but rather a convenient transportation service to the Dead Sea. It is designed for individuals who wish to enjoy some leisure time at the Dead Sea. We apologize if this was not clearly communicated or if there were any unrealistic expectations. We encourage our customers to carefully read the product description and details before making a booking to ensure it aligns with their expectations.
We started the tour with the promise of a coffee break to have breakfast, which didn’t occur. Then the four of us whom book this tour, we’re dropped on the Jordanian side of the Dead Sea, alone, for a “relaxation day”, which had nothing of relaxing. Crowded, laud, horrible facilities and also expensive. After 6 hours they came for us, and after one hour trip, two wheels of the bus exploded. I can say thanks god I arrived safely.
There are very few beaches available for a day on the Dead Sea. We try our best where we can visit but cannot be held responsible. We will pass this review on to the Beach management. (Hotels 65km south! have private beaches with Spa facilities etc at a much higher price! )
I booked the relaxation trip through my hotel because I already saw Mesada before in the past. I did not expect them to combine my tour with the mesada tour. They dropped me off at this place called Kalia beach which was not very nice, no air conditioner anywhere, no spa, very limited facilities. The tour guide just left and went with the other group and expected me to stay there for 7+ hours in the hot sun with no AC. I left after 6 hours I hired a private taxi to take me back to Jerusalem for 250 sheckels. This is a transportation only service and should not be advertised as a tour, its very misleading and there is no spa at all at the location they brought me to. I found out other companies offer the same transportation service for half the price and dont market it as a tour. I asked Bein Harim for help to get a taxi back after being stuck at this shoddy facility all day and they wouldn't even help me get a taxi. Would not recommend booking any tour with this company after the experience I had with them.
Dear B4807WMmichaels, We are sorry to learn that this was the nature of your experience. The word spa is not mentioned once in this tour description. more than that - we specifically mention that there are no spa treatments are being offered at the beach due to Covid-19. We apologize if you misinterpreted what is being suggested, but this is the tour - a day on the Dead Sea beach/
Very well organized trip. Our guide Ami Bar Gil was very knowledgeable and experienced. Dead Sea resort provides everything - showers, bar with air-conditioning, beds, umbrellas, shops...
The guide was very knowledgeable. I enjoyed the Dead Sea. I wish someone offered a shorter tour just to the Dead Sea and back.
Things to keep in mind for this tour. The pick up is from a hotel in Tel Aviv (ours was a half hour late) but you are then taken to another location in Tel Aviv where you get off your bus and we waited another half hour to forty five minutes for another bus. We then stopped in Jerusalem to pick up 2 people. Arrived at the Dead Sea around 11. The spa treatments needed to be booked in advance which this tour should have told us. There were no treatments available. The bus to return left an hour late. The Sea was fun but this tour experience was disappointing.
Dear Tammy, we are sorry that this was the nature of your experience. Spa treatments have to be booked in advance. It is not through us but the actual business onsite. Due to Covid, such services have not come available it seems. We are not late out of any delay but logistics take time and we cannot always be held to blame (travelers have different paces and we have to aim for an optimum, including departure time, at the locations) We are happy though that the floating in the Dead Sea experience and the beauty of the region were great. Sincerely, Bein Harim team
Amazing joy and experience being in salt water, floating and pulling soft black muds from the grounds and robbing it on your skin. I can not describe the feeling but I hope everyone would get the opportunity to experience this incredible moment and completely relax. Thank you Viator for connecting me to best tours.
Thanks so much for sharing this elevating and revitalising experience for others to read of and take the tour too.We are so glad you found this spectcular location incredible and special.
