Tijdens deze tour wordt u vergezeld door een historicus met een diepe passie en kennis van Wales. Je leert wat Welsh, proeft traditioneel Welsh eten en leert over de eeuwenoude geschiedenis en cultuur van Wales. Gareth, je gids spreekt vloeiend Welsh en hij zal je een inzicht geven in Wales dat niet beschikbaar zou zijn bij een standaard touroperator. Het gebied dat we zullen bezoeken is bezaaid met schilderachtige oude stadjes en pittoreske dorpjes die onaangetast lijken door de tijd. Het zuidwesten is de thuisbasis van het Pembrokeshire Coast National Park en is een gebied dat bekend staat om de schoonheid van de stranden en kustlijn. Een voorbeeld van een rondleiding kan een bezoek zijn aan het prachtig bewaard gebleven Normandische kasteel in Pembroke, daarna lunchen in de prachtige middeleeuwse haven van Tenby, gevolgd door een stop in Laugharne, het voormalige huis van de dichter Dylan Thomas.

Bewonder het prachtige stadje Tenby. Ooit een middeleeuwse haven omringd door kasteelmuren, is het nu een van de favoriete vakantiebestemmingen van Wales. Geniet van een maaltijd in een schat aan restaurants of maak een wandeling aan de havenkant. Tenby heeft twee prachtige stranden met kristalhelder water.
Dit was het heiligdom van de wereldberoemde dichter Dylan Thomas. In dit dorp schreef hij enkele van zijn beroemdste werken, waaronder 'Under Milk Wood'. In Laugharne kunt u stoppen in de plaatselijke pub van Dylan voor een pint, zijn boothuis bezoeken en een schuurtje schrijven of genieten van het uitzicht op de monding met het Normandische kasteel op de voorgrond.

We toured South Wales with Gareth. The ride was very comfortable and safe. He is native to Wales and has a vast knowledge of Welsh history. He also provides a personal perspective so that you learn about the nuances of the culture and language. We enjoyed all the stops and had plenty of time to look around. Thank you!

The tour of Pembroke, Tenby and Laugharne was excellent. Gareth is extremely knowledgeable about Welsh history, language and culture. He gave us tips at every stop on the best routes to make the most of our time. It was a great day.
I had to cancel my Welsh Valleys Tour with Tours of Wales due to a serious medical issue that forced me to cancel my entire planned trip to the UK. Did not disappoint! Our guide was thoroughly knowledgeable about Welsh history and language. Very affable. Plenty of time to see the sites and have free time as well. Will book another tour with him next time we’re in Cardiff!

We saw some amazing towns and learned so much about the area from our tour guide. He was knowledgeable and interesting. It was a great option after a late night, because I slept the 2 hours on the way to the first stop. You will go to the beach, so if it’s a sunny day bring a beach towel to enjoy the beautiful view. We loved the town of Tenby and the home of Dylan Thomas.
