Dagtocht naar Simien Mountain
Beschrijving
Dit programma biedt zware maar enorm lonende trektochten langs de bergkam die doorschiet naar de vlakten ver beneden. Het is niet alleen het landschap (en de hoogte) dat je sprakeloos maakt, maar ook de opwinding om tussen een groep gelada-apen te zitten of prachtige walia ibex joust te bekijken op rotsranden.

We ontmoeten u 's ochtends op Gondar Airport of uw hotel in Gondar. Rijd van Gondar naar Debark, het hoofdkwartier van het nationale park. We zullen hier stoppen om toestemming te krijgen om het park te betreden en de verkenner te ontmoeten. We zullen thee- en koffiepauze houden en de lokale markt bezoeken als we tijd hebben. De lokale markt is elke dag open en elke woensdag en zaterdag is de grote marktdag. Vanuit Debark-stad rijden we naar de parkgate, die op ongeveer 16 km van de stad ligt. Daarna gaan we ongeveer 6 km naar Buit Ras, het eerste deel van het nationale park. Vanaf Buit Ras trekken we ongeveer 3, 4 uur naar Chilkuwanit, een van de mooiste uitzichtpunten. Dit gebied biedt een prachtig uitzicht over de helling die verticaal valt. Je zult zeker troepen van de endemische Gelada-bavianen tegenkomen en ze van dichtbij zien. Je kunt ook gemeenschappelijke jakhals, klipspringer en meer zien. Er zijn veel vogels zoals dikbeksnavel Raaf, Augar Buzard, zwarte vliegers, Lammergeyer en verschillende plantensoorten zoals Abessijnse roos, Erica Arboria boom, Euphorbia Species, St. Johns Worttree (Hypercumrevoltum) enzovoort. Onze auto haalt je op bij Chilkuwanit en rijdt naar Gondar

Due to the conflict in Amhara region, this tour as not possible in the natural park. And I understand that but I should have been informed in advance in order to be able to cancel the tour without penalty. They decided to make the tour in the beginning of the mountain range which is 20-30 km from Gondar. No park fees were needed. We were back at lunch time, which means the tour provided was not full day. Lunch was also not offered, I had to pay myself. This means that I paid a very high price for tour provided. after reporting the experience, I was provided with a partial refund, which I appreciate. So I recommend tourists to get informed about the security of the region and the feasibility of conducting the tour before booking.
The mountain trip with Tevan was great. Everything was very well organized. Tevan took care of every detail, he was a great tour guide with a lot of experience, knowledge and humor. I wholeheartedly recommend trips with Tevan.
What a WONDERFUL experience it was! Booking on Viator was a breeze and after that I believe my tour was organized by Ethio Travel and Tour (ETT) via the agent Malese, but executed by Simien Eco Tours, who provided the AWD vehicle (Toyota Landcruiser), the excellent/super prudent driver and the tour guide Amare (hopefully that’s the correct spelling). From a punctual pick up at our hotel to the drive up to meet the guide (and the friendly scout) and the tour/hike itself on the mountain, everything was handled with care by the team. Amare (the guide) was very professional, caring, knowledgeable and took the whole experience to a higher level by providing an overall phenomenal service. We saw animals, hiked, had lunch across from this enormous waterfall and gained knowledge on the wildlife and other curiosities about the area and Ethiopia overall. 10/10 experience that we’ll never forget! Can’t recommend it enough!
