Kyleakin is onze eerste stop op het eiland Skye. Dit pittoreske dorpje biedt de kans om enkele foto's te maken van de indrukwekkende Skye Bridge.
Tijd voor lunch in het mooie havenstadje Portree. Pas op voor hongerige meeuwen! Naast zijn natuurlijke schoonheid heeft Portree een rijke geschiedenis en cultureel erfgoed. De naam van de stad is afgeleid van het Gaelic "Port-an-Righ", wat "King's Port" betekent, wat de historische betekenis ervan als koninklijke haven weerspiegelt. Tegenwoordig is Portree een levendige gemeenschap met een mix van traditionele charme en moderne voorzieningen.
De Fairy Pools zijn een reeks betoverende, kristalheldere zwembaden en watervallen genesteld aan de voet van de Cuillin Mountains, ze bieden etherische schoonheid en magische sfeer. We zullen genieten van een wandeling naar deze blauwe, groene watervallen - en als je dapper bent kun je zelfs een duik nemen! Zorg ervoor dat je comfortabel schoeisel meeneemt om te wandelen en een regenjas voor het geval het nat wordt. * Houd er rekening mee dat tijdens de wintermaanden, weersomstandigheden kunnen betekenen dat het soms niet mogelijk is om de Fairy Pools te bezoeken. Wanneer dit het geval is zullen onze deskundige chauffeur-gidsen de route aanpassen aan de omstandigheden, zodat u enkele van de andere hoogtepunten van het eiland Skye kunt verkennen.
De Sligachan Old Bridge is een rustiek bewijs van de geschiedenis te midden van de adembenemende achtergrond van het Cuillin-gebergte op het eiland Skye. Het creëert een iconisch tafereel dat de tijdloze schoonheid en ruige charme van de Schotse Hooglanden vastlegt.

We decided to do the one day tour versus 2. Tabbie was a delight and we thoroughly enjoyed her storytelling and her love of Scotland. The hike to the Fairy Pools was gorgeous. Be sure to wear hiking shoes.
Tabbie was awesome and so knowledgeable! Hard to believe that she has only been doing this for 3 months... Looking forward to doing another tour with Tabbie on my next visit to Scotland!

This was such a beautiful tour and our guide, Tabbie, was absolutely brilliant. The bus was so cozy, we stopped at all the right places and had plenty of time to do the things we wanted. We experienced much more than what we could’ve make happen for ourselves in a single day! Highly recommend Tabbie’s tour! & she’s a great dj 😊

We decided to trust this guided tour instead of going ourselves, and that was probably one of the best decisions we made during this trip in Scotland. Tabby is an amazing guide, she's very chatty, very funny, and made the whole thing just memorable. She filled the whole road trip with fun facts and legends and myths, and sometimes even gave us her own inputs, which was really welcome. The trip was 12 hours long, but between the stops and the conversations with the other people and the guide, we didn't felt like it lasted that long. We were also expecting a big bus, and we were pretty surprised with the small van that picked us up, but it made everything better, traveling with a small crowd. I would 100% recommend it.
Great spots on the tour! The pickup location was central and easy to find. The bus was comfortable and not giant. Our tour guide Tabbi was kind, humorous, and informative with various stories and folklores.
We throughly enjoyed our day trip tour to the Isle of Skye. Our tour guide (Callum) was excellent and very entertaining with lots of stories and information about the places we visited. We learnt a lot about the legends of fairies and giants on the way! We had lots of opportunities to stop and stretch our legs at various places along the way including Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Eilean Donan castle, Portree, the Fairy Pools and the Magic River (River Brittle). We even managed to fit in a quick visit to a small waterfall near Loch Ness at the end of the day where we saw salmon jumping the river... very special. Worth noting that although the path to the Fairy Pools is well laid, it can be quite steep at times so I'd recommend taking some decent walking shoes - the pebbles caused us all to skid a few times on the way down even with good shoes and a hiking pole. The waterfalls were worth the trek though! It takes about an hour to walk briskly there and back with a bit of time to take photos. The scenery was tremendous and well worth the visit alone - every corner was another magnificent view across the mountains. Highly recommend for families with teens looking for a day trip. There were only 16 people in our very modern minibus. We never felt cramped at all and could clearly hear all the commentary along the way. Highly recommend - well worth doing if you want to see Skye but can't justify a separate holiday away!
