Dagwandeling naar het Humantay-meer vanuit Cusco met lunch

Tijdens deze trekking van een hele dag kun je het prachtige Humantay-meer bezoeken, genesteld langs de beroemde Salkantay-trektocht. Een van de mooiste meren van Peru, tijdens deze trektocht zie je de indrukwekkende Salkantay en Humantay Peaks terwijl je het turquoise water van het meer bewondert.

We reizen naar de stad Mollepata, waar het ontbijt wordt geserveerd. We gaan dan naar Soraypampa (3850 m hoogte), de locatie van de camping voor de eerste dag van de populaire Salkantay-trektocht naar Machu Picchu. We beginnen dan aan onze wandeling naar het Humantay-meer (4200 m hoogte, door prachtige landschappen en als de lucht helder genoeg is, zullen we de indrukwekkende 'Apus' ('geesten van de bergen') Salkantay en Humantay zien. Het duurt ongeveer 1,5 uur om het meer bereiken, met matige moeite vanwege de hoogte en de steilheid van de klim, maar het zal meer dan de moeite waard zijn als we eenmaal bij deze natuurlijke schoonheid zijn aangekomen. Het is ook mogelijk om een paard te huren voor het geval je geen zin hebt om helemaal naar boven te wandelen.

Eenmaal bij de lagune hebben we genoeg tijd om foto's te maken, een aanbod te doen aan de Apus en de dappersten onder jullie kunnen zelfs besluiten om in het meer te gaan zwemmen als het zonnig is! Na wat vrije tijd en rust, beginnen we aan onze afdaling naar Soraypampa voor 1,5 uur, wat veel gemakkelijker is dan de weg omhoog. In Soraypampa zullen we lunchen en na wat rust beginnen we aan onze weg terug naar Cusco, waar we rond 18:00 uur aankomen.

I would like to say that I have the trip of my life. Everything was just wonderful, IntoPeru took care of everything from start to end.
