Vertrek vroeg in de ochtend vanuit uw hotels in Phnom Penh naar Siem Reap met privé auto met Engels sprekende chauffeur.
Na een betoverende rit van vijf uur komen we aan in Siem Reap en beginnen ons bezoek aan het prachtige Angkor Wat. Gebouwd door koning Suryavarman II in het begin van de 12e eeuw als een hindoeïstische tempel gewijd aan Vishnu, beslaat het een ongelooflijke 162,6 hectare - waardoor het het grootste religieuze monument op aarde is. Genesteld in een enorme gracht, symboliseren de vijf lotustorens de berg Meru, heilig in de hindoeïstische kosmologie. Terwijl we verkennen, verbazen ingewikkeld gesneden bas-reliëfs met hindoeïstische epossen en bijna 2000 unieke apsaradansers ons. Deze majestueuze tempel, die op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat, biedt een adembenemend kijkje in de spirituele en architectonische erfenis van Cambodja.
Na uw verrijkende bezoek aan Angkor Wat begeleidt de chauffeur u naar het beroemde Angkor Thom-complex, de thuisbasis van de iconische Bayon-tempel. Deze buitengewone site, gebouwd in de late 12e eeuw door koning Jayavarman VII, wordt gevierd om zijn betoverende structuur van 54 torens, elk met vier serene lachende gezichten - in totaal 216 starende sculpturen die mysterie en eerbied oproepen. Terwijl u door de binnenplaats dwaalt en de labyrintische gangen beklimt, zult u geboeid zijn door de fusie van boeddhistische en hindoeïstische symboliek. Bayon's architectonische genie en spirituele ambiance bieden een onvergetelijke ervaring in Siem Reap.
Vervolgens brengt uw chauffeur u naar de betoverende Ta Prohm Tempel – beroemd als de “Tomb Raider Temple”. Genesteld te midden van de jungle, is deze 12e-eeuwse tempel opmerkelijk vanwege zijn gigantische zijden katoenen en wurgende vijgenbomen, waarvan de enorme wortels weven door afbrokkelende stenen, vaak omhullende deuropeningen en torens. Oorspronkelijk gebouwd als een Mahayana boeddhistisch klooster door koning Jayavarman VII en gewijd aan zijn moeder, werd het grotendeels ongerestaureerd gelaten om de atmosferische fusie van architectuur en natuur te behouden. Het middelpunt is de iconische “Tomb Raider tree”, beroemd geworden door de film uit 2001. Dwaal door de schaduwrijke gangen en ervaar een van Angkors meest mystieke plekken.
De laatste tempel op de route is Banteay Kdei, een rustige en minder drukke site rijk aan geschiedenis en charme. Na het verkennen van deze oude tempel nemen we een ontspannen lunchpauze in een lokaal restaurant langs het prachtige Royal Pool, bekend als Srah Srang. Deze rustige omgeving biedt een perfecte plek om te ontspannen en te genieten van traditionele Cambodjaanse gerechten. Na de lunch beginnen we onze reis terug naar Phnom Penh, waarbij we stilstaan bij de ongelooflijke ervaringen en bezienswaardigheden van de dag. Het is een prachtige manier om de tour af te sluiten, met blijvende herinneringen aan de unieke culturele en historische schatten van Siem Reap.

Cambodia provided all our transfers for all trips, we were 5 people. Always on time for departures at 4am, Ste very serious, no surprise everything is negotiated in advance. Respond very quickly for rates and reservations needs. I highly recommend. The vehicles are clean and spacious depending on the number of people and luggage, several choices of vehicles. Sarom was my driver and he took the best car of me driving me safely to my destination and offering to take stops along the way including the visit to the incredible bridge in Spean Prabtos and also theological old city of Sambor Prei Kuk. I thought me about the local fruits and snacks and we stopped to taste some of them. It was an incredible journey while learning so many more details about this beautiful country and its wonderful people!
