Een must-do dagtocht bij een bezoek aan de Top End! We reizen zuidwaarts langs de beroemde Stuart Highway door de townships van Adelaide River en Pine Creek naar Katherine en Nitmiluk National Park. Verken deze prachtige regio in het Northern Territory en ontspan terwijl je gids tijdens je reis historisch en cultureel commentaar geeft. Een must-see opname is de NitNit Dreaming twee uur durende Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk) boottocht, waar je door het midden van kliffen van 70 meter hoog zult reizen met de natuurlijke verlichting van de zon die zorgt voor steeds veranderende kleuren door het landschap en de rotsformaties. Geniet van de verhalen van de traditionele eigenaren van het land, de Jawoyn-bevolking van Katherine terwijl je door dit spectaculaire gebied wordt geleid voordat we naar de pittoreske Edith Falls (Leliyn) gaan. *Afhankelijk van de timing van de bootcruise, zal Edith Falls (Leliyn) worden bezocht voorafgaand aan of na de Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk) boottocht. Dan is het tijd om onze weg terug naar Darwin te slingeren.

We vertrekken vroeg uit de binnenstad van Darwin, zodat we het meeste uit onze tijd kunnen halen om het Nitmiluk National Park en de omliggende gebieden te verkennen aan boord van onze Katherine Gorge & Edith Falls dagtrip.
Nadat we Darwin in de ochtend hebben verlaten, reizen we zuidwaarts langs de beroemde Stuart Highway door Adelaide River en Pine Creek richting Katherine.
Ontdek de endemische flora en fauna van deze fascinerende regio van het Northern Territory met het historische en culturele commentaar van je gids terwijl we door Nitmiluk National Park reizen. De Katherine River en Edith Falls zijn twee van de beroemdste bezienswaardigheden in deze regio
Er is geen betere manier om Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk) te ervaren dan met de NitNit Dreaming-bootcruise. Tijdens de NitNit Dreaming-cruise reist u door het midden van rotswanden van 70 meter hoog terwijl de natuurlijke verlichting van de zon de kleuren van het landschap en de rotsformaties verandert terwijl u door de kloof reist.
Edith Falls (Leliyn), met zijn enorme natuurlijke dompelbad, is een geweldige plek om een verfrissende duik te nemen of gewoon te ontspannen en te genieten van de omgeving. (*zwemmen is afhankelijk van het seizoen) Uitzicht over het echappement is te zien vanaf verschillende uitkijkpunten langs de wandeling
Als de tijd het toelaat stoppen we hier voor reizigers om hun benen te strekken en een ruststop te houden.
Na genoten te hebben van een actieve dag vol natuurlijke schoonheid, gaan we langzaam terug naar Darwin waar we ergens tussen 19.30 en 20.00 uur aankomen.

- Deze route kan variëren om zich aan te passen aan seizoensveranderingen en af en toe sluiten plekken in de parken of zijn zwemmen niet toegestaan. - Zorg ervoor dat u de gemiddelde temperaturen voor de tijd van het jaar waarin u reist, hebt gecontroleerd en dat u voldoende kleding hebt ingepakt.

It was great having a bus tour for the long trip to Katherine Gorge and Edith Falls. Comfortable bus. A stop in both directions was well timed. The boat trip through Katherine gorge was excellent with informative commentary on the gorge, Jawyon people, their culture and history, the geology and the wet and dry seasons in the gorge. I appreciated the opportunity to look at the rock paintings. The boat had good seating and fresh water which I needed. Edith Falls was a good stop with good facilities and I enjoyed the small cultural centre focused on Jawyon and Country. Learning about the return of the land to Jawyon and the lease back to government of the National Park was excellent. The driver's commentary gave lots of information on trees, birds, termites and other creatures. He spent a bit of time on crocodiles and attacks on people. Some of his comments on other drivers and people could have been more respectful. I am glad to have done the tour and seen this beautiful part of the Top End. Thank you.

We had an amazing day exploring Katherine Gorge and Edith Falls! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and the gorge cruise was definitely the highlight of the trip. Our guides, Tim & Rob, were friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole experience enjoyable. It was a long day from Darwin, but completely worth it. We loved every moment and would highly recommend this tour!
Lee was our guide for the day. He did a fantastic job thanks for a great , he is very knowledgeable about the area. Yes it is a long day but you were made aware of this at time of booking. Edith falls was a very relaxing spot , water a bit fresh. At Katherine Gorge we had a local guide Russell he was very good .Katherine Gorge was just stunning. Would recommend this tour by Autopia Tours to anyone.
a lot of hours spent travelling to & from was a bit frustrating.. but the sites were good, our driver Leigh was great, he was entertaining, well read, very informative with historic elements related to the area.. and beyond.. during the drive he kept us entertianed with local stories and very patient considering his 17hr day.. The boat trip was a bit disappointing due to being cut short because of a broken access up stream... but great views..

It’s a very long day, but well worth the effort. Very good driver/guide gave us constant information and updates on what’s around us. I would certainly bring lunch and not depend on Adelaide Creek stop as food options very limited. Great days tour, led by and excellent guide
