Mikumi Nationaal Park. Mikumi herbergt een enorme concentratie dieren, waaronder leeuwen, olifanten, buffels, nijlpaarden, krokodillen en nog veel meer. Het park bevat een ondersoort giraffe die door biologen wordt beschouwd als de link tussen de Masai giraffe en de reticulated of Somalische giraffe. Geniet van het landschap van Mikumi dat vaak wordt vergeleken met dat van de Serengeti. Geniet van het uitzicht op het park en de wilde dieren. Malundwe Mountain bestaat uit drie toppen langs een bergkam die naar het noorden en zuiden loopt, en de zuidelijke piek is het hoogste punt in het park, dat 1290 meter boven zeeniveau reikt. Bewonder de vegetatie van dit gebied dat bestaat uit savanne bezaaid met acacia, baobab, tamarinde en enkele zeldzame palmbomen.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Very disappointing experience. We booked and paid for our safari more than one month in advance. However, Airfox Tours only contacted us two days before the tour to request our passport copies, claiming they were required to book the train tickets. Unfortunately, we were already travelling from Europe to Tanzania when they sent the email and could not respond until we landed. Their message never explained that the request was urgent or that failing to reply immediately could result in losing our booking. When we finally replied, we were informed that the trains for our booked date (5 July) and the following day were already fully booked and that the next available date was 7 July. This was impossible for us because the rest of our trip had already been planned and paid for. In our opinion, this situation was caused by poor planning and communication. If passport details were essential, they should have been requested weeks earlier—not just two days before the tour. Expecting international travellers to monitor emails while in transit is unreasonable. The company refused to provide the tour as booked and did not offer a satisfactory solution for the inconvenience and additional costs caused. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this company.
The park deserves a lot. It is enough to visit it in a single day seeing many animal species. Our tour was organized by Hussein who proved to be an always helpful and kind person. He was an important point of reference throughout the trip, also giving valuable advice.
