We tried getting in touch with Plan Trip Budget multiple times through messages and through the phone number provided by TripAdvisor to no avail. No response whatsoever! Although no one came to pickup us up (as we had requested this option) our riad host advised us to be present at the meeting point later, so full of hope we were there. After waiting and hoping they’d show up, as similar tours came and went, they simply did not show or say anything at all!! If you book with Plan Trip Budget it will be at your own risk. You try to use a reputable company like TripAdvisor to book a tour ahead of time and ensure a good experience, even willing to pay a little more for that, just to be let down…
Beautiful day in the atlas with an amazing guide. We loved strolling through these authentic landscapes, ate a traditional tagine with great views, took a mule ride and had a good laugh on camels. We can't wait to get back!!
Beautiful day we walked a lot but it was really worth it and after Berber lunch
Hassain was our fantastic guide for our amazing loop walk in the Atlas Mountains. Great views, great picnic spot at the top of one of the passes we climbed. Hussain was polite and knowledgeable about the area we hiked through. Thank you
We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to the Atlas Mountains. After travelling from our Riad in Marrakech we reached Imlil where we were met by our guide Mohamed. Mohamed took us on a walk past a waterfall and through mountain villages for approximately two hours to his house. We were welcomed by his lovely family and served a tasty lunch before a stroll back to Imlil. Mohamed was polite, relaxed and spoke excellent English. He, along with our driver from the Riad, contributed to the whole family having a wonderful day out. Can certainly recommend.
Hassan was our guide and was great! He was incredibly well informed, full of stories which brought the landscape and culture into sharp focus, he was also engaging and very funny. A Charming, respectful, and intelligent guide to spend the day with.
During a second trip to Marrakech my wife and I wanted to spend a day in the Atlas Mountains, our Riad arranged the driver and the driver introduced us to Mohamed who took us on a 5k walk around the villages and waterfalls near Imlil where the walk started and finished. Mohamed made sure we had a great experience by being informative but also giving us space to enjoy the breathtaking scenery We would have enjoyed a longer more strenuous walk but time only allowed us a brief taster which has wetted our appetite for more.
My wife and I were in Marrakech for a week and we decided we wanted to see the mountains we read so much about. The journey to the mountains couldn't have been more simple. We had the friendliest driver pick us up right from our Riad in the Medina. We picked up four other lovely travelers and headed up into the mountains. The initial stop at the female run co-op was so nice. We had tea and bread to start our day and then got to learn about the argan oil harvesting process. We purchased a couple of lovely products to support then we were off to the mountains. Our guide Mohammed was such a wonderful guide and took good care of us throughout the journey. I will say, this journey is definitely a trek and you'll want to be in fairly good shape. We went in late January and there was plenty of snow in the mountains and even some ice in the shadier parts of the hills. Dress accordingly. The views the whole way are incredible and hearing the call for prayer echo through the mountains was an amazing experience. You'll come away with some fantastic photos and the lunch at the end will be worth all your effort. The lunch is on a beautiful terrace and you're surrounded by snow covered peaks (at least in Winter you are).
We enjoyed a beautiful January day walking up to the snow line with Mohamed our very friendly guide. It was interesting to learn a little about how this remote mountain community survives in the 21st century. In addition to the beautiful mountain scenery, highlights included visits to a local cooperative hand weaving wonderful rugs and carpets and another making Argan oil. The best part of the day for us, however, was lunch with Mohamed’s family in a traditional Berber village; delicious food and wonderful people. A great escape from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. Highly recommended
An amazing experience! We met up with Mohamed, who led us up the trail. He was very patient with those who were slower and helped a lady with the icy climb. Once we got to the top we were greeted with a mint tea in a little view point. The views were amazing and Mohamed was able to answer all your questions. We continued on, down the other side, to the village he lived in, where we had an amazing lunch. Chicken and vegetable tagine with fresh bread and a bowl of lentils. We were then given fresh oranges and bananas before continuing to meet the driver. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Marrakech!
