De Mekongdelta is de zuidelijkste regio van Vietnam. Het wordt vaak aangeduid als de rijstkom van Vietnam omdat het drie oogsten per jaar produceert. De vruchtbare Mekong Delta is ook beroemd om zijn tropische vruchten en bloemen. Het deltagebied markeert het einde van een 4.500 km lange tocht die de Mekong rivier heeft afgelegd na zes landen te hebben doorkruist. Mỹ Tho is een van de grootste steden in de Mekong Delta, bezaaid met serene boeddhistische pagodes en omgeven door dichte rivieren. Veel geweldige bestemmingen voor bezoekers zijn vastgesteld door de lokale overheid en particuliere bedrijven, die duizenden toeristen per dag bedienen. Ophaaltijd: tussen 08:00 uur - 08:30 uur bij hotels in District 1; en rijd 1,5 uur naar de Mekong rivier. We stoppen onderweg voor verfrissingen en toilet.
Stap bij aankomst aan boord van een motorboot en dompel jezelf onder in de adembenemende schoonheid van de Mekong-rivier terwijl we langs de pittoreske kanalen en waterwegen varen en genieten van een prachtig uitzicht op de legendarische Dragon-, Unicorn-, Turtle- en Phoenix-eilanden.
Vanaf de boot geniet je van de aanblik van de Rạch Miễu-brug - een van de grootste, door Vietnamezen gebouwde overspanningen van de Mekong.
Als we de rivier oversteken naar het dorp Bến Tre, stoppen we bij een traditionele werkplaats waar je getuige kunt zijn van de stapsgewijze verwerking van het maken van kokosnootsnoepjes, het kweken van honing en meer, terwijl je je overgeeft aan heerlijke monsters en genieten van de klanken van traditionele muziek. Ervaar de charme van het lokale leven door een rustige sampantocht te maken langs het schaduwrijke, luchtige kanaal, geroeid door vriendelijke lokale bewoners. Spring daarna op een Xe Lôi - een soort lokaal vervoer - om de dorpen te verkennen.
Geniet van een heerlijk Vietnamees 5-gangenmenu voor de lunch in een restaurant aan de rivier. Laat het ons van tevoren weten als u dieetbeperkingen heeft.
Neem daarna de tijd om tot rust te komen en te genieten van de serene sfeer van een typische Mekong Delta-tuin, of verken het charmante dorp tijdens een ontspannen fietstocht. Begeef je op een mooie boottocht door de pittoreske grachten in de schaduw van waterkokospalmen, terwijl we teruggaan naar de Mỹ Tho-pier.
Stap aan boord van de bus en ga naar de Vĩnh Tràng-pagode, een van de meest opvallende pagodes in de Mekongdelta. Bezoek de betoverende Vĩnh Tràng-pagode, een unieke mix van Vietnamese, Chinese en Cambodjaanse bouwstijlen. De thuisbasis van vele ingewikkelde boeddhistische beelden en houtsnijwerk, het is een bestemming die je zeker moet bezoeken voor diegenen die geïnteresseerd zijn in culturele en religieuze bezienswaardigheden.
Geniet van een comfortabele en ontspannende 1,5 uur durende transfer terug naar Hồ Chí Minh City, waarbij je nadenkt over de onvergetelijke ervaringen van je dag in de Mekong Delta. We brengen je op verzoek terug naar het ophaalpunt of ergens in het stadscentrum.

It was an amazing experience in Vietnam. Our tour guide is very knowledgeable he knows everything he was saying about every place we went to. It was a small group tour which is perfect for my family who are mostly introverted 😊 For me the highlight of all the activities we did was the boat ride 🥰
