Dagtour naar Heilige Vallei: Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, Yucay Museum en lunch

'S Ochtends wordt u opgehaald bij uw hotel in Cusco om de stad Chinchero te bezoeken, een traditioneel centrum van Cusco, gelegen op een hoger gelegen punt met een prachtig uitzicht op de vallei. De bewoners van dit gebied behouden de ambachtelijke tradities en de overgeërfde kennis van de Inca's. Er zijn ook archeologische overblijfselen en een prachtige zeventiende-eeuwse kerk. Vervolgens word je overgeplaatst naar het Living Museum of Yucay. Een centrum van de traditiesinterpretaties van de Andes, waar demonstraties van de uitwerking van textielwerk, adobe, aardewerk en zilverwerk op dezelfde manier worden uitgevoerd als in de oudheid. Transfer naar Ollantaytambo waar je vrije tijd hebt voor de lunch. Hierna bezoekt u de stad en de plaatselijke archeologische vindplaats, die sinds de Inca-tijden onafgebroken bewoond is, en beklimt u het iconische fort dat naast een berg is gebouwd. Aan het einde van deze activiteit wordt u teruggebracht naar uw hotel. * Bezoeken op zondagen zijn inclusief een rondleiding naar de Chinchero-markt.

Chinchero ligt 28 km van de stad Cusco, op 3780 meter boven zeeniveau. Het centrale plein is een buitengewone fusie tussen Inca en koloniale architectuur. De kerk is een van de beste voorbeelden van religieuze kunst in Cusco, ze werd gebouwd op Inca-muren, met een altaar versierd met bladgoud in barokstijl.
Dit is een centrum voor interpretaties van Andes-tradities waar u demonstraties kunt zien van de uitwerking van textiel, zilverwerk en aardewerk.
Ollantaytambo, een typisch voorbeeld van stadsplanning van de Inca's die nog steeds bewoond werden zoals in het verleden. U vindt hier een groot archeologisch complex dat fort wordt genoemd, hoewel het een tambo was, een rust- en verblijfplaats voor lange-afstandsreizigers.

I made this excursion inside a guided circuit. The Guide of this tour, Juan, explained well, but unfortunately I would not recommend this tour. It doesn’t seem logical for me to spend just 2 hours in total visiting the archaeological sites of interest, Chinchero and Ollantaytambo (without leaving even a moment free and also doing it on horseback), 1 hour to eat, and the rest of the day (almost 4 hours) to visit obligatory commercial premises, in which it is clear that the Guide or the agency take some kind of profit. Especially when half the group had already visited a similar place the previous day (textile center). I also consider that excessive time is wasted in picking up and transferring tourists to the various hotels (about 1 hour), rather than having a common hotel for everyone.
This tour we loved, the best has been the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo and Chinchero. Also the visit to the community of weavers has been very interesting. But I think the Yucay Museum can be taken off the tour, it did not bring us anything new to what we had already been seeing and learning from the Inca culture. Lunch was very good and complete. I highlight our Guide Saul, a very polite person with a lot of knowledge of the history of the place.

Very little time to visit historical places, spending too much in alpaca wool stores that do not contribute anything.
Good and educational experience. Tourist guide knowledgeable about the areas visited and explained in a simple way. The only thing that the Agency must coordinate is for one of its employees to accompany us in the process of boarding the train to Machupicchu. Our experience was not good on boarding.
The organization was impeccable, they met the schedules, the delicious lunch in a beautiful hotel and the accompaniment of the guide Larry, very generous with his stories, experiences and friendliness.
