Het is een tour waar liefhebbers van geschiedenis, politiek, natuur en fotografie elkaar ontmoeten. In slechts 7 uur verken je de Georgische Sahara, Rainbow Mountains, David Gareji Lavra en het meer. Je keert tenslotte terug naar Tbilisi en eindigt de tour om 17.00 uur.

Traveler's Meeting Point - is een gratis ruimte waar u nieuwe opwindende mensen kunt ontmoeten, bordspellen kunt spelen, naar goede muziek kunt luisteren of kunt genieten van een glas wijn.
De eerste plaats waar je stopt is een winkel om snacks te kopen. Aangezien het gebied geen goede restaurants heeft en we geen lunchstop hebben, moet u wat snacks krijgen om niet te hongerig en ongemakkelijk te worden. En vervolgens gaan we naar een zout meer, waar we een uitstekende mogelijkheid hebben om mooie foto's te maken. Het meer is op weg naar David Gareji Lavra en de uitzichten zijn verbluffend om gedenkwaardige foto's te maken. In totaal hebben we voor de winkel en het meer 30 minuten.
Na het meer rijden we verder door Udabno Village, vertaald als woestijn. Het gebied waar we zullen reizen is de enige semi-woestijn die Georgië heeft, en het is meer dan verbazingwekkend om te zien hoe divers de Georgische natuur is.
We beginnen aan het einde van de rit richting de beroemde Rainbow Mountains te lopen. Het meest indrukwekkende kenmerk van het landschap is het mineraalrijke sedimentgesteente, dat eruitziet alsof het is beschilderd met felgekleurde strepen. Het is mogelijk om door de Rainbow Mountains te wandelen, die bezoekers verbazen met hun kleuren. We zullen door de Rainbow Mountains wandelen, veel betoverende foto's maken en ons voorbereiden op de historische tour van David Gareji Lavra. Het David Gareji-kloostercomplex is een van de meest spirituele plekken in het land. Je hoort de verhalen van het klooster, wandelt een stukje en ziet een Georgische soldaat op de grens van Georgië en Azerbeidzjan. Er wordt aangenomen dat St. David deze geïsoleerde locatie koos omdat hij wilde dat zijn discipelen een heilig leven zouden leiden, onafhankelijk van de rest van de samenleving.
Na David Gareji Lavra keer je terug naar Tbilisi en voltooi je de tour om 17.00 uur.

Tota (Nicholas) was a fantastic guide, he was very knowledgeable about the local history and answered my (many) questions. Zaza drove much safer than your average Marshutka driver and his van had seatbelts which I appreciated. The monastery and rainbow mountains were stunning, well worth the visit!
It was great. Tota was a wonderful guide and the views hiking in the rainbow mountains were spectacular. Zaza, the driver got us there very safely. I would definitely recommend doing this tour if you love nature and a nice hike with a picnic at the end.
Zaza was our driver and Tota (Nicholas) was our guide for the trip and he was fantastic! He led our lovely hike through the rainbow mountains. I do believe maybe 5 more minutes at the rainbow mountains would have been better, but it was very windy, so I understand. There were no big crowds at any of the stops. In fact, there were almost no people on the hike. The hike to the picnic, the ancient monastery, it was all lovely. One of the cutest day trips you can do—quieter, more kinesthetic with the hiking, perfect for someone who would want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life for a few hours and soak in the landscape and the wind. We had the best time with our guide Tota ! We were a small group with 5 people and Tota made sure we had the best group spirit. We learned a lot about Georgian history and Tota took us on a very beautiful hike to the best picnic spot. We would definetely do it all over again. Would totally be careful about the weather though, i can imagine it would be very difficult in the summer heat. We had a cloudy day so it was perfect.
