Bezoek de prachtige Heilige Vallei, een van de meest bezochte plaatsen in Peru, en een 'must see' tijdens een bezoek. De heilige vallei is een prachtig en werkelijk fascinerend gebied, omgeven door bergen, Inca-citadels, weefdorpen en kleurrijke markten, ongeveer 15 km ten noorden van Cuzco (1,5 uur met de auto). Tijdens deze dagtour bezoekt u de traditionele weefstad Chinchero, Moray, Maras, terrassen van Pisac en zijn markt, de Urubamba-rivier en het fort van Ollantaytambo. Je krijgt ook een smakelijke lunchbuffet inbegrepen in de tourprijs.

We halen je rond 7:00 uur op bij je hotel en gaan naar Chinchero, een typisch Andes-dorp dat Inca-ruïnes combineert met een koloniale kerk, een prachtig uitzicht op de bergen en een kleurrijke markt op zondag. We zullen leren over het proces van hoe de lokale bevolking hun textiel maakt. Een meesterwever zal ons stap voor stap hun technieken en alle stadia laten zien, van het verzamelen van de grondstoffen tot het wasproces en het verven van de draden met natuurlijke kleurstoffen. Aan het einde van de demonstratie krijgt u ook de kans om enkele van hun producten te kopen.
Moray is een archeologische vindplaats op ongeveer 4,5 km van de stad Maras en op 39 km van Cusco. Het meest indrukwekkende kenmerk is het systeem van ronde landbouwterrassen, die tot 100 meter diep zijn. Sommige mensen geloven dat de Inca's deze plaats gebruikten als een soort laboratorium om de optimale omstandigheden voor de teelt van gewassen van elke soort te bepalen.
De tour gaat verder met een bezoek aan de koloniale stad Maras en zijn kerk. We bezoeken dan de oude zoutpannen, strategisch ingegraven in de berghelling, duizenden ondiepe poelen gevuld met zout water verdampen uiteindelijk en laten het gekristalliseerde zout achter, een proces dat al meer dan 500 jaar wordt toegepast.
We gaan hier lunchen in buffetvorm.
We bezoeken Ollantaytambo, een oude Inca-tempel en fort, gelegen aan de noordwestkant van de Heilige Vallei van de Inca's.
We bezoeken de prachtige ruïnes van Pisac en zijn kleurrijke lokale markt. Een ongelooflijke site met een relatief klein aantal toeristen dat dagelijks komt. Deze plaats heeft verschillende gebouwen zoals plazas, tempels, zwembaden en andere structuren, die werden gebouwd tussen de 10e en 11e eeuw na Christus. We raden ten zeerste aan om enkele uren te reserveren om deze site te verkennen. De Inca-architectuur is indrukwekkend, omdat ze hun technieken gebruikten om enorme terrassen te bouwen die van zuid naar oost gaan over een enorme berg van 3.000-3.450 m (9.843 - 11.319 fasl). De paleizen en de manier waarop de stenen blokken zijn geplaatst is echt ongelooflijk.

This trip was the BEST! We saw so much and learned even more. The tour guides were top notch and the timing was perfect.

We toured Peru for 2 weeks with Into Peru and we loved it! We went to: Lima - vibrant, warm, best food I’ve ever eaten in my life, felt safe in Miraflores and Barranco etc Iquitos - Amazon jungle was mesmerising, amazing wildlife (we saw sloths, monkeys, pink and grey dolphins all in their natural Habitat). Fished for piranhas, did a night hike through the jungle, swam in the lodge’s pool, went to a local market. Absolutely once in a lifetime. Private tours for our family. Lodge was great, astounded by how good the food was with fresh fish etc. Ica - sand dune riding, sand boarding, tubing, true adrenaline fuelled! We were taken in private vehicle from lima and private tour at huacachina. Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu - outstanding experience with unforgettable memories made. Absolutely loved it all, Maras and Moray, the Inca sights, Machu Picchu is magical. What made the whole thing so enjoyable was knowing we didn’t have to plan or think about how to get around, where we needed to be etc was all taken care of so we could just concentrate on having the best time possible as a family. Travelled with our kids who are 8 and 6 and Into Peru were so good with them, the planning to take into consideration what was best for them and us was the best service I’ve ever had on vacation. They thought about the altitude for the kids so we went straight to the Sacred Valley at a lower altitude to get used to it before ending in Cusco. We had family friendly tours in the jungle. I can’t recommend them highly enough, especially if travelling with kids. Thank you so much for an awesome trip!
We had a truly amazing time in Peru, we had no idea how to plan everything and are so glad we chose Into Peru to do it for us. My husband and I spent the most wonderful week touring Peru. We went to Cusco, through the marvelous Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. In the Sacred Valley we visited Maras and Moray, Pisaq and Chinchero. We met many wonderful local people and loved their hospitality. We took the memorable Hiram Bingham train to Machu Picchu which was outstanding and then loved our visit to Machu Picchu. We are older now and not as fit as we used to be but our tour guide was so patient and took his time with us. On our way back from Machu Picchu we stayed at the marvelous Tambo del Inka hotel which is truly faultless and a great place to rest up. We had Into Peru plan our trip and boy did they do well. We opted for their luxury private service for the two of us and we were treated like royalty! Everyone was fantastic, very punctual and incredibly kind and respectful. We just finished a week long trip through the Sacred Valley and Cusco, culminating at Machu Picchu with Into Peru. We went for their private service in the hope it would be stress free and personalized and it sure was!
