Lumpini Park is een oase van rust, frisse lucht en schaduw, voor stedelingen de perfecte connectie met de natuur. Het park is vernoemd naar de geboorteplaats van The Lord Boeddha in Nepal. Het is meer dan een half miljoen vierkante meter groot, en heeft een rijke en gevarieerde flora en fauna. Historisch gezien, dateert het park uit de jaren 1920 en is oorspronkelijk gebouwd als expositiecentrum voor Thaise ambachten en bloemententoonstellingen. Hoewel deze originele visie nooit is verwezenlijkt, is het Lumpini-park door de jaren heen voor veel inwoners van Bangkok uitgegroeid tot een geliefd centrum voor recreatie in de buitenlucht. De mensen komen hierheen om voor en na zonsondergang te genieten van een rondje joggen, lichte training, aerobics en een keur aan andere recreatieve activiteiten.
Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre of ook bekend als Queen Sirikit Convention Centre, is een congrescentrum en expositieruimte in Bangkok, Thailand. Het centrum wordt door het Thaise Ministerie van Financiën beschouwd als een openbare ruimte. Het wordt sinds de opening in 1991 echter beheerd door N.C.C. Management & Development Co., Ltd., een particuliere onderneming. De QSNCC werd gebouwd voor evenementen, met name conferenties en tentoonstellingen en hier worden tal van internationale evenementen gehouden. De QSNCC is ook de thuisbasis van de Plenary Hall, een theaterzaal, met een capaciteit van 6000 personen.

Een van de best bewaarde geheimen van Bangkok is de versmarkt Khlong Toey, een chaotische en uitgestrekte markt voor levensmiddelen. Het is de droom van elke reisfotograaf, boordevol marktkraamverkopers met levende dieren, verse groenten en fruit en gekookte lokale gerechten. Een boeiend inkijkje in hoe de bewoners leven - en om te zien waar uw moo manow nu eigenlijk vandaan komt.
Het Benjakiti-park, een groene plek tussen de hoge hotels en kantoorgebouwen van Sukhumvit, is één de populairste parken van Bangkok, en een toevluchtsoord voor joggers, fietsers en iedereen die even wil ontsnappen aan de stress van de drukke stad. Het park wordt gedomineerd door een aanzienlijk meer en de twee aparte lanen rond om het park zijn speciaal ontworpen als gescheiden fiets- en hardlooppaden (wat voor velen uiteindelijk wandelen wordt, vanwege de meedogenloos warme avonden). De waterkant is ook mooi omringd door goed onderhouden planten en kleurrijke bloemen die bijdragen aan de kalme sfeer.

B was a great guide helping us navigate the traffic, roads and paths and telling us about where we were and sharing Thai customs and traditions and some of his story. Pace is quite slow as you walk around a market and stop in the parks and a local temple (more of a complete community centre) and in the poorer parts, but that’s fine as you can see more of what is happening in the real Thailand. Lunch was good but the restaurant we used had a lot of cats(not great for us)

It was a real pleasure to discover Bangkok, this wonderful city with a small 20km bike tour. Alexander is an extraordinary guide with a lot of humor. We laughed a lot. We also stopped by to try Thai boxing. Unfortunately, Alexander won. The lunch break was very simple but of impeccable quality in such a clean place. Enjoy discovering this wonderful city by bike while doing a little sport is not bad.

The tour guide was really nice and informative. The low rating here is for the bait and switch that this bike tour company pulled on us. I specifically booked this bike tour to see the Benjakitti Park and Lumpini park, among the other locations listed in the itinerary. We didn’t see any of the location listed on the itinerary. It was a complete disappointment. I would not recommend this tour company or this tour based on false advertising.

We had a truly exceptional experience on this cycle tour around the city. The tour guide was brilliant and really such a great guy. The pace was good and there were stops at good intervals. We saw parts of Bangkok that we wouldn’t have otherwise seen or experienced. Really grateful to have done this.

At Thailand Biking we made a half day tour through Bangkok. We were received very hospitably by André and his wonderful team. Before departure we got a good explanation about the traffic in Thailand and what we could expect from the tour. We cycled on busy roads and through a slum, stopped at a temple, went over a market with our bikes in hand and drove through a park. The conclusion with a delicious lunch was top. A great experience to discover Bangkok in this way.

We did a 3 hour bike ride through Thailand. Super fun and also impressive. Through back streets and past rickety huts we were taken by the Guide. You see Bangkok from a whole different side. Along the way you will get a bottle of water a number of times so you will be well taken care of. The Guide is enthusiastic and knows a lot about the places where we stop

Nice varied tour, straight through Bangkok, cycling through the market, through Lumpini Park, a nice Thai lunch, on a smoothly cycling bike, and a very good guide. Highly recommended !

I think it's the best way to explore Bangkok (half day ride only) from a local's perspective and on a bicycle. We rode through the morning rush hour with street vendors selling breakfast along the pedestrian walkway, visit a local buddhist temple, in between squatter homes and villages. Unconventional local spots and parks where tourists would not know where to go. Drinks and lunch is included in the package and we rode at our own pace. Recommended 100%.
