De dag begint met het verlaten van Londen en reizen naar het typisch Engelse platteland van The Cotswolds; een gebied dat beroemd is om zijn prachtige landschap, charmante dorpjes en honingkleurige stenen huisjes. Onze eerste stop is de traditionele stad Burford; bekend als de ‘Gateway to the Cotswolds’. Dit is een historische plek waar veel huizen bijna 600 jaar oud zijn en er al eeuwen niets is veranderd. Tijdens het bezoek is er tijd om Burford te verkennen, de prachtige kerk te bezoeken en door de hoofdstraat te wandelen om een mix van onafhankelijke, door een familie gerunde winkels te bezoeken.
Het dorp Bibury wordt vaak beschreven als het 'mooiste dorp van Engeland'. De charmante scène is een momentopname van het traditionele Engelse plattelandsleven. Wandel langs de zachte rivier en zie de iconische Arlington Row; een set wevershuisjes die nu een van de symbolen van de Cotswolds zijn.
Onze lunchstop is de charmante nederzetting Bourton-on-the-Water. Door de ligging aan de rivier is de stad bekend geworden als het 'Venetië van de Cotswolds'.
We gaan door het platteland naar Stow-on-the-Wold, de hoogstgelegen stad in de Cotswolds, een wirwar van oude herbergen en antiekwinkels rondom het bruisende marktplein. Deze historische stad was een inspiratiebron voor JRR Tolkien en is ook de plaats waar de laatste slag van de Engelse Burgeroorlog plaatsvond in 1646.

Nigel the tour guide was amazing! His knowledge of British history is unequalled.
Our tour of four Cotswold towns was delightful. Ollie was very informative with his knowledge of the area. He also was patient and kind during our trip. Glad we picked this tour!

We had a fabulous day seeing these picturesque villages and walking around the friendly tourist areas. The vistas weee stunning. I’d love to do a walking tour of the area in the future. Food was good too and lots of nice folks on the bus. Kevin treated us all with respect and we had a fun day.

From the moment the tour began, he made everyone feel welcome and at ease. He is an excellent driver, incredibly knowledgeable about the history, culture, and villages, and shared fascinating stories throughout the day. What really set Nigel apart was how much he genuinely cared that everyone had the best possible experience. He made sure we knew exactly what to see and do in each of the four villages so we could make the most of our time, and his recommendations were spot on. I also loved how he paired music with the journey—it added such a thoughtful and memorable touch to the day. Nigel is personable, engaging, and clearly passionate about what he does. This tour will expose you to four lovely villages, and the drive is interesting as well. Rolling grain fields separated by stone walls, and panoramic vistas abound.
A pleasant counterpart to the city of London. The ride through the countryside is lovely and the villages are charming. Our guide Ollie was terrific, he was charming and kept us entertained, as well as informed! There are many pleasant strolls, and infinite photo opportunities. If there was a downside, it sometimes felt a bit rushed, which could be expected on this type of tour. We definitely got a taste of each one, and left with a desire to return!
Absolutely amazing to see … beautiful villages all a little different. I was second guessing my choice the day before the trip however it was amazing I can’t say enough about it and I am planning on returning with my family. Sean our driver was great and made the trip very nice he was very knowledgeable.
It was a very enjoyable tour of an area I've always wanted to see. Thank goodness for the air conditioned van that kept us cool in between villages in 90 degree heat. We saw 4 different areas that all had unique personalities and Ollie our driver delivered knowledgeable facts and points of interest along the way. Worth the time to visit while in London.
