Souq Waqif (Arabisch: Sūq Wāqif, "de staande markt") is een marktplaats (souq) in Doha, in de staat Qatar. De souk verkoopt traditionele kleding, specerijen, handwerk en souvenirs. Het is ook de thuisbasis van restaurants en shisha-lounges. Het oorspronkelijke gebouw dateert minstens uit de 20e eeuw in een traditionele Qatarese bouwstijl. Het werd gerenoveerd in 2006. De souk werd minstens een eeuw geleden gesticht in de buurt van de droge rivierbedding die bekend staat als Wadi Musheireb. Het was een verzamelplaats waar bedoeïenen en de lokale bevolking een verscheidenheid aan goederen zouden verhandelen, voornamelijk vee. Het Nationaal Museum van Qatar is een nationaal museum in Doha, Qatar. Het huidige gebouw is op 28 maart 2019 voor het publiek geopend en vervangt het vorige gebouw dat in 1975 werd geopend. Het gebouw is ontworpen door architect Jean Nouvel die zich liet inspireren door het woestijnrooskristal, dat te vinden is in Qatar. Een rondleiding door het museum neemt bezoekers mee door een lus van galerijen die drie belangrijke, onderling verbonden thema's behandelen. De galerijen zijn losjes in chronologische volgorde gerangschikt, te beginnen met tentoonstellingen over de natuurlijke geschiedenis van de woestijn en de Perzische Golf, kunstvoorwerpen uit de bedoeïenencultuur, historische tentoonstellingen over de stammenoorlogen, de oprichting van de Qatarese staat en ten slotte de ontdekking van olie tot het heden. De displays en installaties die deze thema's onderzoeken, presenteren audiovisuele displays met zorgvuldig geselecteerde schatten uit de collecties van het museum.
Katara is een cultureel dorp in Doha, Qatar. Het is gelegen aan de oostkust tussen West Bay en de Pearl. "Katara" was de historische naam die voor de 18e eeuw voor Qatar werd gebruikt. Het werd zacht geopend in oktober 2010 tijdens het Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF), een evenement dat het sindsdien heeft georganiseerd. Katara heeft een open amfitheater, een operagebouw, een multifunctionele bioscoop, een multifunctionele conferentiezaal, een strand en een souk. In november 2015 werd een museum geopend waarin het maritieme erfgoed van het land wordt getoond.
De Pearl-Qatar is een kunstmatig eiland van bijna vier vierkante kilometer. Het is het eerste land in Qatar dat beschikbaar is voor eigendom door buitenlanders. De naam "The Pearl" is gekozen omdat het eiland wordt gebouwd op een van de vorige grote parelduiklocaties van Qatar. Qatar was een van de belangrijkste parelhandelaren van Azië voordat de Japanners goedkopere, meer betaalbare parels introduceerden net voor de olie-hausse in Qatar. De Pearl-Qatar helpt om het rijke verleden van Qatar in de parelindustrie te vertegenwoordigen. Er wordt gezegd dat de parel op een parelsnoer lijkt.

Our group consisted of 11 middle-aged women, family members and friends. The program was fully fulfilled and we visited all places, calmly, able to enjoy every moment. However, I have to mention that we were in 2 Jeep and one of the drivers who I regret not know the name, stands out for his care, communication ability and customer attention. The other adopted an opposite stance, having often spoken on the phone, including to see a telenovela, was not careful about the safety of the passengers, nor provided the necessary information. Still in this vehicle, the impossibility of putting the seat belts (because the seats had a lining) caused one of the passengers to get hurt by hitting with the head on the roof of the car during the Safari in the desert. At that time it was the other driver who intervened at my request and solved the problem. To this driver a great and recognized thank you! It deserves our appreciation and the rating of 5 stars+! (Only we do not give maximum score to the tour for the circumstances mentioned above).

We booked this tour for the day after we arrived in Doha and it was the perfect start to our trip. Our guide, Zubair, took great care of our family of seven, including the kids, making the whole day smooth and enjoyable. He first took us on an incredible desert safari—an unforgettable ride across the dunes that ended at the stunning point where the desert meets the turquoise sea. The drive was thrilling yet safe. Afterwards, he brought us back into the city to explore Doha’s main sights, sharing fascinating history and making sure we had time to stop for photos and food along the way. It was the ideal mix of adventure and culture. I’d highly recommend this experience—and especially Zubair, who made the day truly exceptional.
