De spannende dag begint met het ophalen van uw hotel door een vertegenwoordiger van Sanota Walkers. Dan wordt u meegenomen naar een bezoek aan een van de zeer vereerde tempels van Sri Lanka, de Gangarama-tempel, die zich aan het beroemde en pittoreske Beira-meer in het midden van de stad Colombo bevindt. De Gangarama-tempel werd ongeveer honderdtwintig (120) jaar geleden opgericht en is een van de belangrijkste boeddhistische tempels in Sri Lanka. Oorspronkelijk gebouwd als een kleine kluis op een stuk moerassig land in de 19e eeuw voor Christus, is de tempel uitgegroeid tot verschillende imposante gebouwen en uitgegroeid tot een internationaal bekende plaats van aanbidding, een centrum voor leren, evenals een vergaderzaal voor monniken terwijl onder andere ook een museum, een bibliotheek en een reliekkamer.
Seema Malaka is een boeddhistische tempel in Colombo, Sri Lanka. De tempel wordt voornamelijk gebruikt voor meditatie en rust, in plaats van voor aanbidding. Gelegen in het Beira-meer, werd de tempel oorspronkelijk gebouwd in de late 19e eeuw.
Als je eenmaal je zintuigen hebt opgewonden met het oude en het nieuwe in Fort & Pettah, is het nu tijd om de wereldberoemde Galle Face Green te bezoeken en te ontspannen in het rustgevende geluid van golven die aan de kust klotsen. Met uitzicht op de prachtige Indische Oceaan, grenzend aan het prachtige strand Galle Face en het beroemde koloniale stijl Galle Face Hotel (sinds 1864 bekend als Azië's Emerald on the Green), is een elegante promenade met wuivende palmbomen en vaak bezocht door zowel de lokale bevolking als de bezoekers gelijk de Galle Face Green genoemd.
Laten we nu naar een heel speciale plek gaan, genaamd de Independence Squarelocated op slechts een paar minuten afstand van het oude parlementsgebouw. Dit gebouw werd gebouwd om de onafhankelijkheid van Sri Lanka ten opzichte van de koloniale overheersing te herdenken en bevindt zich op dezelfde locatie waar in 1948 een speciaal podium werd gebouwd ter gelegenheid van de ceremonie van het begin van zelfbestuur en het nieuwe parlement in Sri Lanka. Het gebouw aan het Onafhankelijkheidsplein herbergt ook een museum met een geschiedenis van alle personen die hebben gestreden en gevochten voor de onafhankelijkheid van Sri Lanka.
De Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara of Kelaniya-tempel is een boeddhistische tempel in Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 11 km van Colombo. De hoofdaannemer is Eerwaarde professor Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkhitha Thera.

A great introduction to Colombo, our guide was well versed on the city and very informative. The tour did the top highlights of the city, and show cased the the interesting mix of temples and religions. The tour is recommended for those new to the city with limited time to self explore. Lunch was also great, an opportunity to try something local.

The pick-up from the port did not work, the statement “They will be picked up at the ship and the guide has a sign with their name” did not take place. The guide spoke only English , booked and promised was a German guide.

My driver was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He drove safely. The car was clean and AC to keep me cool. I visited many temples to experience the cultural life. I ate at a wonderful restaurant for lunch. We able to go to a store for survivors.

The driver was very knowledgeable of Hindi and Buddhists temples. The sights were fantastic. Even though the tour online it says approx 6 hours, we were informed that is actually 4 hours of tour then 1 hour of shopping which was not in the description. We did 4 1/4 hours and were exhausted, so it’s the right amount of touring. We recommend this tour.

Our city tour with Subash around Colombo was excellent and quite because of Independence Day, a nice lunch at a Curry restaurant,good local information and a very caring quire.
