In Sri Lanka zijn hoppers dunne, komvormige pannenkoeken, genoemd naar de pan die ze hun vorm geeft. Natuurlijk schreeuwen deze knapperige bakjes om een bepaalde vulling. Net als het beslag begint te koken, breken koks er een heel ei overheen en dekken de pan af.
Geniet van vers bereide Nan Roti geserveerd met uw keuze van zeevruchten of kip curry. De warme, zachte roti past perfect bij de rijke en smaakvolle curry, gemaakt met traditionele Sri Lankaanse kruiden en kokosmelk. De zeevruchtencurry wordt bereid met verse lokale zeevruchten, terwijl de kipcurry zacht en aromatisch is, langzaam gaar om authentieke lokale smaken naar voren te brengen. Deze heerlijke combinatie biedt een echte smaak van Sri Lankaanse huiselijke keuken.
Kottu Roti (ook wel gespeld als Koththu Roti) is een van Sri Lanka’s meest geliefde en iconische streetfoods. Dit smaakvolle en vullende gerecht wordt gemaakt door gehakte godhamba roti (een soort flatbread) te roerbakken met een mix van groenten, eieren, vlees (kip, rundvlees of zeevruchten) en aromatische kruiden.

* Alle gasten verblijven plaatsen. * Airport Pick-up & Drop door Tuk Tuk (Driewieler- 20 USD ) * We kunnen reizigers ophalen of ontmoeten op een ontmoetingspunt ( Colombo 1 tot Colombo 15 alleen ) * Bandaranaike International Airport Pick-up & Drop met de auto ( Extra oplader's voor voertuig - 20 USD ) * Negombo Pick-up & Drop met de auto (Extra oplader's voor voertuig - 45 USD ) Vanwege de parkeervoorschriften die door de toeristenpolitie worden gehandhaafd, kunnen we geen Tuk Tuk-ophalingen direct bij de ingang van de haven regelen. De vuurtoren van Colombo ligt echter op slechts 20 meter afstand, ongeveer 3 minuten lopen. Gasten kunnen deze locatie gemakkelijk bereiken voor pick-up.

As a first timer this was perfect! Our tuk driver was also our tour guide and had so much knowledge. We started with samosas, then refreshed with fresh cut yellow king coconut. The highlight was street-style BBQ seafood and a savoury rice cake like a pancake served in a bowl with 3 different curries. Our driver was so kind, fun, and I loved his Afro 😄 Must try - it was awesome!
My guide was really friendly and informative. Travelled around on a TukTuk to places that I wouldn’t have visited, tried some food that I wouldn’t have tried typically. Lasted about 2 hours or so. I did go on a public holiday so there was not much traffic.
We did a breakfast food tour (starting at 9am), so we tried some typical early-day dishes. In all, we tried lots of local cuisine, like string hoppers, cassava, pol roti, Dahl curry, chicken cheese balls, samosas, and chicken kottu. We also visited a local market with our guide, Kumaran, where he showed us different spices, vegetables, and fruits typical of Sri Lanka. We ended with a tea tasting, and not only did we eat well on this tour, but Kumaran took care to explain the history of different Sri Lankan cultural sites and answer our many questions!

If you want to experience the hustle and bustle of Colombo, with culture and food thrown in - this is the tour for you! Our guide was amazing and the food stops were too. You experience it all in this one amazing tour!!! Highly recommend
Very disappointed, our driver didn’t turn up. We booked this tour through TripAdvisor with a collection time of 9am from our hotel. We had a light breakfast knowing we’d be going to plenty of food locations. At 9.30am no one had shown up so I contacted the tour company who said the driver had tuk tuk issues and would collect us soon. Shortly after this the driver contacted us and said they would collect us at 10.10am. By 10.20am we had been waiting in our hotel lobby for 1hour and 20mins, were very hungry, and still no one showed to collect us, so we requested a refund from TripAdvisor. We were surprised at the very poor service given the number of positive reviews, and do not recommend booking with Capital Tour by Tuk Tuk.
We sincerely apologize that our driver was unable to arrive at the scheduled pickup time. Unfortunately, the delay was caused by an unexpected engine oil leak in the tuk tuk, which was beyond our control. Despite the issue, our driver arrived at your hotel at approximately **10:30 AM** to collect you. After arriving, we also attempted to contact you via WhatsApp, but you were offline. We then tried to reach you through the hotel reception; however, this was unsuccessful because the hotel reservation was made under a different name. Providing excellent service is always our highest priority, and we deeply regret that this unforeseen mechanical issue prevented us from picking you up on time. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.
We enjoyed our afternoon food tour with our guide and tuk tuk driver, Hemi. We went to a fruit and vegetable market, and a few small restaurants and also had a tea tasting. Make sure you are very hungry when you go on the tour! Nantri Hemi
Memorable experience late afternoon in Colombo. Ramesh was our guide, super-friendly and deftly handled the peak hour traffic, while we sat back and enjoyed the ride. Our tour started at the Pettah produce market, before going to a number of roadside stalls and restaurants to experience local cuisine. The egg hoppers and spiced seafood dishes were superb. Ramesh maintained an easy and unhurried pace, despite the surrounding bustle. On the way home we stopped at a tea dealer to sample some teas to take home. We genuinely enjoyed the food and overall experience and would recommend it to other travellers. Great photo opportunities as well, so take your camera. Thanks, Ramesh!

We enjoyed a wonderful food tour on our second day in Sri Lanka, which was a great way to kick off our trip. We tried new food which we’ve been continuing to order and went to places we never would have discovered on our own. Highly recommend!
