They charged me more when I called it was $120 usd and turns out $162 usd. And the tour guide charged us $120usd as extra fees.
We would like to clarify that no additional charge was applied by our team. The amount requested corresponds to the Conservation Fee, which is a mandatory government/state fee and is clearly stated on your ticket. For this reason, we kindly recommend reviewing the sections “Included” and “Not Included” in your booking confirmation, as all fees and services are detailed there.
Pros 1. Cenote was awsome 2. Chichen itza was a worthly experience 3. The Guide in the bus ( one with grey hairs) was very friendly and helpful Cons 1. When i booked, the pick up point i chose was my hotel, but the pick up was away at the main road and was not clearly communicated 2. Communication from the tour operator was bad 3. $75 was trip fee and Paid almost $45/person for chichen itza tax + pick up ( for what we really dont know) 4. In the inclusion it was clearly mentioned lunch with drinks. But we had to pay for the drinks ( even for water 50 pesos) 5. Lunch was terrible (no surprise its coming for free) 6. Everything is expensive drinks, handcrafts etc. 7. Cenote was exceptional but allocated time was too less to enjoy it A genuine suggestion is check whats included and whats excluded in the trip. It’s really confusing and not properly written. Better to book for an all inclusive trip.
Chichen Itza was amazing. Our guide there, Sam, was very good. This stop alone made the whole day worth while. The Cenote was interesting to see. The town Valladollid wasn't really worth the stop, as it was a bunch of tour busses dropped off to shop. This stop was not about the town at all. The bad part was that they charged us more than double what the description said we'd have to pay for "taxes". We are working with Viator to try to get our money back for that.
The tour of Chichen Itza was the highlight of the day. It is an amazing place and Sam our guide was great. The Cenote was very interesting. The town trip we could have done without. It wasn’t about the town just took us to a store they were affiliated with to shop. Prices not worth it. The town did look nice but we didn’t really have time to explore or hear about it.
The most memorable thing about the tour was that we were so late getting back to Playa Del Carmen that we missed the final ferry to Cozumel. We were hungry and tired and had to find a restaurant open at 11:00pm and then find a hotel room. We picked this tour because it stated we could leave and return to Cozumel. Got an email the night before the tour that we had to get to pick up at Playa Del Carmen. The pick up site was very disorganized. When we got the van we were taken to a bus lot where we were transferred to a bus and informed that we owed additional money. The bus took us to the cenote which does not look anything like the pictures. I did not want to swim, but I needed to use the restroom. The toilets were awful. Next we had lunch, which was okay, but nothing special. When we made it to Chichen Itza we were told several times to be back on the bus by 4:00. We were all back by then except our tour guides. They were a half hour late. We finally got back to Playa Del Carmen at 10:40pm. 40 minutes after the last ferry. The only really good thing about the tour was the guide who gave us information about Chichen Itza was very informative. This tour was advertised as 11 to 12 hours. It took over 14 hours! I would not recommend this tour.
Difficult to understand. We are English speaking and the tour was difficult to understand until we got to the Chichen Ineza. That your guide was easier to understand.
Unbelievable place to visit and discover the secrets of such an amazing civilization and culture. Such knowledge by the guides that makes you feel absorbing a;; this information at once. I'm very happy also to visit the cenote.... OMG such a beautiful place.
