I am very dissatisfied with this tour. The tour was advertised as a 13-hour tour, but we were picked up at 7:00 AM and did not return until nearly 10:00 PM. A large portion of the day was spent waiting for other passengers, taking long detours to pick people up, and dropping them off at different locations. It seemed that the company was trying to fill an entire bus by picking up passengers from places very far apart. For example, those of us who boarded in Tulum had to travel about 70 km to pick up other passengers, and then another 70 km again when dropping them off before we could finally return to Tulum. This added many hours of unnecessary travel time. As a result, the time at the actual attractions was quite limited and felt rushed. We did not have enough time to properly enjoy the places we came to see. If I had known the schedule would be arranged this way, I would definitely not have chosen this tour.

However, there weren't anywhere close to 70 km of travel distance between them Yes, the goal for any tour operator is to have a group complete, that means the bus. You will cover a lot of ground on this tour. It will take a long time to get Chichen Itza. . . and it gets crowded. . . but in the end, I think you will still be able to get the pictures/selfies you want. . . and the guide you will have (ours was Christian, an absolute professional, you will absolutely learn some great factoids about Mayan history and archaeology) will shed a lot of light on what you will be seeing at this new Wonder of the World. . . I remember I was really worried about how long it was taking to pick every one up from the different meeting points and hotels, but in the end, once again, the guided tour of Chichen Itza made it more worthwhile. . . after visiting Chichen Itza, then visiting these two other beautiful cenotes was also a very straightforward and rewarding experience. . . oh, yeah, there's a buffet lunch before going to the cenotes (pretty tasty). . . I am writing this review after doing the tour at the end of February. . . "your mileage will very" crowd wise depending on the time of year you will book your tour. Honestly, if you book this tour during the peak season, you will have to deal with crowds at Chichen Itza and at these very famous and photogenic cenotes. . . but if you're not renting a car or opting to take an earlier tour of Chichen Itza, then you may avoid the crowds at Chichen Itza with an earlier start, but how do you get to the cenotes after that without your own car? So, life is all about compromise. . . you are going to have a great day overall. . . and you finish the day with a quick tour of Valladolid, where you can walk around for a brief bit before heading back to Playa del Carmen and Tulum. . . so it's technically a Chichen Itza, Cenote x 2, and Valladolid tour!!! Overall grade A-. . . I'm glad I did it. And, once again, thank you to Christian, an absolute professional with a very beautiful voice and excellent English.
