Ophalen bij het hotel of een afgesproken punt in Bogotá. Vertrek richting Zipaquirá, dwars door het Andeslandschap en de savanne van Bogotá.
Aankomst in Zipaquirá – Historisch en cultureel erfgoed Bij aankomst verkennen we dit charmante stadje, dat bekendstaat om zijn koloniale architectuur en rijke historische erfgoed. Zipaquirá werd oorspronkelijk bewoond door de inheemse Muisca-bevolking, die zout exploiteerde als bron van welvaart en handel.
Ontdek de Zoutkathedraal Eenmaal binnen in de Zoutkathedraal daalt u 180 meter onder de grond af door verlichte tunnels met een mystieke sfeer. Tijdens de rondleiding stopt u bij de 14 kruiswegstaties, elk met zoutsculpturen die het lijden en de dood van Christus uitbeelden. U bezoekt de Koepel, de Narthex, het Grote Kruis uitgehouwen in steenzout en de indrukwekkende drie hoofdaltaren. Bewonder het optische effect van het lichtgewelf en de majestueuze schoonheid van deze ondergrondse tempel, die wordt beschouwd als de op één na meest indrukwekkende gebedsplaats ter wereld. U kunt de Mineralengalerij, de Waterspiegel en andere ruimtes vol geschiedenis en symboliek verkennen.
Optionele rondleiding door het historische centrum van Zipaquirá Na een bezoek aan de kathedraal kunt u een korte wandeling maken door het historische centrum van Zipaquirá. De geplaveide straten, koloniale balkons en het prachtige centrale plein voeren u mee naar een ander tijdperk.
Terug naar Bogota Na een dag vol geschiedenis, cultuur en architectonische schoonheid keren we terug naar Bogotá, waar u teruggebracht wordt naar uw hotel of vertrekpunt.

Pierre was an excellent guide. He was prompt and took us on the scenic route so we could enjoy the countryside. He took us to a great lunch restaurant and gave us recommendations on local dishes. He was also very thoughtful and kind throughout the entire experience making us feel comfortable. Highly recommend him for this experience.

Great tour guide and Salt Cathedral is an amazing place. The ride accommodations were great and I met people from all over the world. They also dropped me off back home at 5pm.

Carmelo was a great guide and our group of strangers became friends on our day out. The salt Cathedral was amazing. The lunch not included was my final meal in Colombia and was so good. More time in the town centre please and I missed out on visiting the castle that we fleetingly passed. Should have been 15 minutes stop. But Bogotá traffic lost us time. Van AC was not cold enough.

I have booked the tour at 10pm the night before, and they were able to accomodate me for the next morning - and I was the only one in the tour! They went above and beyond to make sure I have an excellent time, the company communicated in great English with me via What's app to confirm the driver location and name and made sure I found them. And the driver - Carlos - was just the best. I practiced my Spanish with him and he made sure he spoke extra slowly for us to converse, I had just the best time. Carlos gave me a fantastic customer experience in his big SUV with air-conditioning and comfortable seats for the 90 minute drive through Bogota traffic. The cathedral itself was nice, I did the English audio-tour (included in the price) - although they seem to offer also guided tours in Spanish - and it took me 1 hour to listen to every one of the 22 stops in the Cathedral. The nearby city is cute, we made a quick pitstop to take some photos of the square. I would highly recommend the tour company and Carlos as a driver to anyone.
