Geniet van een privétour van een hele dag door Cape West Coast in een privévoertuig, op een cirkelvormige route die begint in Kaapstad aan de R27 en terugkeert op de R45 vol met veel landschappen, activiteiten en ontdekkingen. Ervaar vissersdorpen aan zee in Yzerfontein, Paternoster en Langebaan waar je kunt genieten van verse zeevruchten, interactie met de lokale bevolking in Khwa ttu en ontdek een deel van het West Coast National Park met zijn tapijt van madeliefjes in het voorjaar (augustus en september). Zie het tarwegebied in het Swartland en doe wat wijnproeverijen in Darling.

Je wordt opgehaald bij je hotel / pension en rijdt langs de R27 tijdens deze privétour door Cape West Coast. Je komt door Bloubergstrand (vertaling: Blue Mountain) en Big Bay. Vanuit dit gebied heeft u een van de beste uitzichten en fotomogelijkheden van de majestueuze Tafelberg en een duidelijk zicht op Robbeneiland.
We slaan de R27 af richting de R307 en gaan richting Darling, langs de steden Atlantis en Mamre. In Darling doe je wat Olive Tasting.
Vanaf daar gaat u verder op de R315 en maakt u opnieuw verbinding met de R27 voor een stop bij! Khwa ttu. Beleef een San People-culturele ervaring vanaf 10:00 uur met de volgende hoogtepunten: Dit is een fascinerend inzicht in de cultuur, het erfgoed, de kennis en het moderne leven van de San van zuidelijk Afrika onder leiding van een gekwalificeerde San Tour Guide. De San-mensen zullen pronken met hun vaardigheden, hun oude kennis over geschiedenis delen, dieren volgen en planten identificeren. Je leert woorden in sommige van hun talen. Deze ervaring biedt u de gelegenheid om te luisteren naar nauwkeurige verslagen van de vorige en huidige levens van de San.
Terug op de R315, alleen tijdens het walvisseizoen, rijd je richting het vissersdorp Yzerfontein, waar je misschien geluk hebt om wat walvissen te bekijken.
Vanaf daar ga je naar het West Coast National Park. Er wordt gezegd dat hier de voetafdruk van Eva werd ontdekt - een van de vroegste ontdekkingen van het menselijk bestaan. Men kan ook dieren en een grote gemeenschap van vogels in dit park bekijken. Bloemen bloeien het mooist (de madeliefjes maken bloementapijten) in de lente (augustus en september).
Een korte rit na het verlaten van het Nationaal Park, bereikt u de stad Langebaan. Dit is een van de oudste steden in Zuid-Afrika en ook bekend als het JUWEL van de Westkust van Kaap. Het is een populaire vakantiebestemming voor Zuid-Afrikanen.
Na een optionele lunch onderweg in Langebaan of Paternoster (op eigen kosten) gaat u terug via de R45. Langs deze route stop je in het West Coast Fossil Park voor een kijkje in de grootste diversiteit van 5 miljoen jaar oude fossielen.
Passeer Langebaanweg Airforce Base (vliegschool), de stad Hopefield (optionele stop bij Simply Bees Wax for Honey) en de tarwe- en canolaregio Moorreesburg en Malmesbury. Gasten hebben de optie van het Wheat museum in Moorreesburg, wijnproeven in Malmesbury of bekijk de struisvogels op de Struisvogelboerderij in Philadelphia voordat je aankomt in Kaapstad. Aan het einde van de tour word je afgezet bij je hotel / pension in Kaapstad. Voor de avonturiers zijn er tal van opties, van tochten met paardrijtochten tot kajakken op zee en skydiven aan deze westkust van Cape.

Our driver Gordon picked us up at 8:00 am and we drove to an Olive and wine tasting facility in Darling. We tasted 3 wines and about 12 other products made with olives. We bought a bottle of cinnamon infused olive oil and olive marinade which tasted like fruit cake jam. Our next visit was a stop at the San people museum who have lived in South Africa for 40,000 yeasts as hunters and gatherers. We explored the museum and listened to native stories told on a large screen. Then we started a guided tour through the 3rd museum where we learned how the San people made beaded jewelry out of ostrich eggshell. Our third stop was to the West Coast Fossil Museum where we visited a dig site of many bones, most of which were short necked giraffes. This museum had replicas of the short necked giraffe made out of pieces of wood. Gordon delivered us back to Cape Town. He was very helpful explaining how the tour for the two of us would proceed and let us make modifications to the schedule because we had extended visits to the 2 museums.

We had an awesome tour yesterday—we spent about 10 hours at the Cape with Gordon, our tour guide, and Hakim, the driver. It was a super engaging and informative tour; we learned tons of interesting facts. Thanks to Gordon's eagle eye, we even spotted a whale in the sea. The tour started with a stop at Big Bay to watch wind surfers and view Table Mountain and Cape Town. Then on to Darling Olives for tastings of olives, olive oils, spreads and jams paired with 3 local wines. Try the chocolate olive oil sausage, it's delicious. Next stop was !Khwa ttu village where we chose the Way of the San tour. Our guide explained the lives of the San people and demonstrated how they hunt and live. From there we drove to the West Coast Fossil Park where we had lunch followed by a tour of the fossil tunnel. The guide explained the fossils we saw that are still buried in the earth. Next we drove through Langbaan and the West Coast National Park with a stop to view the Atlantic Ocean. On our way back to Cape Town, we saw eland, ostriches, an eagle with something in its claws (maybe a snake) and springbek on a golf course. Gordon, our guide/driver, was outstanding. His knowledge of SA history and culture made the day one we will remember for years.

Gordon, our outstanding guide/driver, picked us up on time and we headed out of Cape Town. First stop Big Bay for views of wind surfers, Table Mountain and Cape Town. Then on to Darling Olices where we enjoyed tasting olives, olive oils, spreads and jams paired with 3 wines (140 rand). The chocolate olive oil sausage is to die and I bought one. Next stop !Khwa tu Village where we chose the Way of the San tour at Gordon's recommendation. We had a private tour with a San guide who helped establish the museum. He shared details of the San history, demonstrated how they live and hunt and tried to teach us how to talk in San. Next was West Coast Fossil Park (340 rand) where we had lunch then took a tour to see fossils still embedded in the earth. From there we drove through Langbaan to the West Coast National Park (432 rand). We stopped at a scenic overview of the Atlantic Ocean. It was beautiful watching the waves. We opted to not go to the honey farm. On the way back to Cape Town we saw eland, ostriches, an eagle with something in his claws (maybe a snake) and, springbek on a golf course. Gordon's knowledge of SA history and culture plus sharing some personal history made it a fabulous day.

The contact in advance was very good and professional. Our guide Mena contacted us via WhatsApp before the tour so the meeting place was easy to find. During the tour he told us great and informative things about South Africa. He responded to all questions and wishes during our tour. A great day. Many thanks to Mena.
We had a driver but not a really good guide. We did not do all of the stops on the tour...the driver knew that the flowering season was past but still insisted on along dusty ride through the park. When asked about a possible stop at the ostrich farm, he waved it off and didn't seem to know anything about it. He didn't offer any choices of a lunch stop and basically had us do lunch at the cultural center where there was a huge tour group which really took a huge amount of time. The highlights of the day were the Cultural Center and the wine and olive tasting in Darling. He also never indicated that we would have onboard wifi.

Lunch should have been presented with clear choices, including timing and venue options, rather than defaulting to a busy stop that consumed too much of your day.
