Begeef je op een onvergetelijke tour naar het echte puntje van het Afrikaanse continent waar de 2 oceanen officieel samenkomen. Ontdek vooraf een kleine broedkolonie Afrikaanse pinguïns en proef ook de bekroonde koele klimaatwijnen van Zuid-Afrika in de wijnstreek Hemel n Arder. Verken een ongetemde Moravische stad uit de jaren 1820 genaamd Elim en geniet van tal van fotomomenten terwijl we tijdens deze tour de uiterste zuidkust van het land doorkruisen. Hoewel het een lange rit is, is de Cape Agulhas-tour veel meer een authentieke ervaring met een minder toeristisch gevoel voor diegenen die op zoek zijn naar zo'n nichemarkt. Het gebruik van een comfortabel privévoertuig is ook gegarandeerd.

Betty's Bay is een kustplaats een uur ten oosten van Kaapstad. Het was een walvisstation in de late jaren 1800. Later werd het beter bekend om zijn ongewone bewoner: de Afrikaanse pinguïn! De pinguïns vestigden zich aan het begin van de 20e eeuw op het strand van Stoney Point. Dit maakte Stoney een van de 2 pinguïnkolonies op het vasteland. Gasten hebben wat tijd om langs het pinguïnstrand te wandelen en de pinguïns van dichtbij te zien.
Het zou onrechtvaardig zijn om door een van de beste wijnstreken van het land te rijden en niet te stoppen. De Hemel n Aarde (wijnstreek ligt zowel dicht bij de zee als op grotere hoogte dan de Kaapse Wijnlanden. Dit is het perfecte klimaat voor de druivensoort met een koel klimaat. Dit betekent wijnen met subtiele, frisse zuren, een lichtere body, en heldere fruitsmaken.De vallei kan enkele van de beste pinot noirs en Chardonnay-wijnen van het land produceren.Uw wijnproeverij bij Hamilton Russell zal u niet teleurstellen.
Na de wijnproeverij gaat de tour verder richting Hermanus. Een schilderachtig kustplaatsje dat ook de hoofdstad van Zuid-Afrika is om walvissen te spotten. Walvissen kunnen hier elk jaar tussen juni en november worden gespot vanaf het walvispad langs de kust. Hermanus staat ook bekend als een van de gastronomiesteden van Zuid-Afrika en je kunt hier lunchen voordat de tour verder gaat naar het zuidoosten richting Elim.
Vanaf Kaap Agulhas voert onze reis ons door een pittoresk dorpje genaamd Elim. Elim werd in 1824 gesticht door Duitse kolonisten. Het was het 3e Moravische station in de buurt van Kaapstad en er is in de loop der jaren weinig veranderd. Rijen witgekalkte huisjes met rieten daken langs de straten van dit charmante dorp. En alle met vijgenbomen omzoomde straten leiden naar de kerk! Gasten hebben tijd om rond te lopen en de kleine rozentuin van de stad te bezoeken.
3 uur ten zuidoosten van Kaapstad Stad is het meest zuidelijke puntje van het Afrikaanse continent: Kaap Agulhas. Hier botst de warme Indische Oceaan met de ijzige Atlantische Oceaan. De ruige kustlijn herbergt meer dan 21.000 waterrijke gebieden en verschillende soorten zeevogels. De Serengeti van de zeeën, genoemd vanwege het gevarieerde onderwaterleven, maakt ook deel uit van het Kaapse bloemenrijk. Het rijkste bloemenrijk ter wereld! Ongeveer 2000 verschillende plantensoorten leven in dit gebied en meer dan 100 zijn endemisch. Terwijl wij hier zijn, heeft u ruimschoots de tijd om de kustvlakten te verkennen. Je kunt ook de vuurtoren van Kaap Agulhas bezoeken; de tweede oudste in Zuid-Afrika. Een wandeling naar de top van de vuurtoren geeft je een panoramisch uitzicht over de stad en het museum aan de onderkant.

This is a great tour exploring the cape outside of Cape Town. It is a long tour, but our guide, Danson, tailored the day to our liking. We were able to skip places that were not of interest to us and enjoy more time at other places. Danson is very knowledgeable about the entire area and made the long drives feel much shorter with his informative description of each place and its history. If you have time, I’d highly recommend this tour and Danson as your guide. He really made experience very enjoyable.

The trip to Cqpe Agulhas was PERFECT. Well curated with adequate time to have lunch, spend time to see penguins, walk along the beach, climb the lighthouse. Our guide Peter was AMAZING! knowledgeable about not just the tour but also Cape town and South Africa as a whole. He was engaging but not overwhelming. Even with my teenage children. Very professional. My interaction with Pauline was very professional, she answered all my questions and enquiries. I would highly recommend this tour with this company.
