Bootnavigatie naar Balmaceda en Serrano-gletsjers vanuit Puerto Natales

Dit is een boottocht door Last Hope Sound naar het Bernardo O'Higgins National Park, om de gletsjers Balmaceda en Serrano te bezoeken. We zullen niet alleen deze ijzige reuzen zien, maar ook de lokale flora en fauna onderweg.

Deze boottocht vertrekt 's ochtends vanaf de pier bij Puerto Natales en neemt ons mee naar twee gletsjers, Balmaceda en Serrano. Deze maken deel uit van het Bernardo O'Higgins National Park en zijn alleen per boot bereikbaar. Dit park heeft een oppervlakte van 4.300,00 hectare (16.600 vierkante mijlen) en is daarmee het grootste in Chili en een van de vier grootste parken ter wereld. Het omvat het Southern Patagonian Ice Field, de grootste massa ijs op het Amerikaanse continent. Onze reis van en naar het einde van Last Hope Sounds duurt acht uur en omvat een uitstekend uitzicht op de oude vriesinstallatie in Puerto Bories, verschillende kleine ranches, ijsvelden en watervallen, een kolonie aalscholvers waarvan de gemeenschappelijke naam Imperial Shag is als evenals een zeeleeuwrotstuin. Vanaf de boot kunnen we ook de lokale flora zien, waaronder bossen met bomen met lokale namen zoals coigue, canelo, ñirre en lenga. Na drie uur reizen verwachten we de Balmaceda-gletsjer te bereiken, die zich aan de oostkant van de berg bevindt met dezelfde naam. Aan het einde van de fjord zal de boot aanmeren zodat passagiers een half uurtje langs een meer naar het uitkijkpunt voor de Serrano-gletsjer kunnen wandelen. Later op de middag keren we via dezelfde route terug naar Puerto Natales.

No one spoke English… no guide, wasted my time and no value for the price… would no recommend for anyone….no photos of any value
A nice day, loaded in a shining 4x4 Huber at our hotel at 06:10 sparkling, brought to the boat, coffee, chatting with our screws screws, well wedged on our armchairs in the soft heat of the cabin and off we go, cool framing, outing on the deck or on the deck above the cabin, whenever we want, swimming prohibited, stops at the famous viewpoints, walk to the foot of a glacier, photos, photos, photos. Return to port after a stop super meal watered with Carmener or other according to taste, possible choice chicken, vegan, lamb in brazier the whole hearty sheltered in a large heated room, with friendly staff and attentive.Reembarkation.back to port enjoying a good whisky or other according to taste. One of our favorite excursions seeing the glaciers, the beautiful Andes Mountains, and the meeting the most wonderful and most welcoming peoples! Wishing and hoping to return soon!
The incredible view. Beautiful landscapes. Very bad guides, they don't explain anything more than the basics. We did not see the Balmaceda glacier. Delicious lunch at Hacienda Perales.
The check-in was convenient and efficient. We walked from our Hotel "Saltos del Paine" to the tour office. The short bus ride to the boat dock was prompt and courteous. The return bus ride was punctual and comfortable. The boat crew courteous and helpful giving explanations of the waterfalls and the glaciers.
