Ga buiten de gebaande paden en verken de gevarieerde regio Port Douglas met Blue Adventures. Onze tours leggen de nadruk op het zien van dieren in het wild en we besteden tijd aan het verkennen van het regenwoud dat op de Werelderfgoedlijst staat, cruisen op een door regenwoud omgeven vulkanisch kratermeer en het maken van ontspannende natuurwandelingen op een aantal verbluffend mooie locaties - allemaal gebieden die rijk zijn aan inheemse Australische dieren. Tijdens de tour zien we regelmatig wilde dieren, waaronder kangoeroes, vogelbekdieren, emoes, wallaby's, boomkangoeroes, hagedissen en een overvloed aan vogels. * Houd er rekening mee dat we minimaal 2 passagiers nodig hebben om een natuur- en regenwoudtour met kleine groepen te bevestigen. Als we het minimumaantal niet halen, nemen we contact met u op om alternatieve data of andere opties te bespreken.

Riviercruise en lunch met uitzicht op het kratermeer
Dit park beschermt het met uitsterven bedreigde Mabi-bos, gekenmerkt door halfverliezende bomen waardoor er voldoende licht de bosbodem bereikt. Het herbergt met name een unieke vijgenboom met uitgebreide luchtwortels die een opvallend "gordijneffect" vormen. Afkomstig uit een zaadje dat hoog in het bladerdak was gevallen, wurgde de wurgvijg geleidelijk zijn gastheerboom, waardoor een vrijstaande vijgenboom achterbleef die naar schatting meer dan 500 jaar oud was, bijna 50 meter hoog en een stamomtrek van 39 meter. Blue Adventures Wildlife Tours plant samen met ReForest Australia actief bomen om de regio te helpen herstellen naar de pre-industriële houtkapdagen.
Tijdens onze privé-wildlifetours stoppen we bij het Granite Gorge Nature Park, waar u de gelegenheid heeft om de Mareeba-rotswallaby (Petrogale mareeba) te observeren. Deze zeldzame soort rotswallaby komt oorspronkelijk uit het Mareeba-gebied en werd in 1992 officieel erkend als een aparte soort. Het is een kans om uit de eerste hand getuige te zijn van de unieke biodiversiteit van de regio.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
Een wit Blue Adventure Wildlife-busje of 4x4-voertuig (afhankelijk van de groepsgrootte) haalt u tussen 07.30 en 07.40 uur op bij de receptie van uw hotel. Houd er rekening mee dat als u wordt opgehaald buiten het gebied van Port Douglas, wij contact met u opnemen om uw ophaaltijd bij te werken. Hotel pick-ups zijn inbegrepen in de omgeving van Port Douglas, Cairns pick-ups zijn alleen beschikbaar op privétours tegen een kleine meerprijs.

We toured Australia for 3 weeks and this was by far the most memorable tour experience. Mark was an amazing guide and took us to see animals in the wildlife reserve as well as in their natural habitat. It was truly an unforgettable experience and we loved connecting with the animals and hearing fun fats and Australia history from Mark. Definitely worth the time, this tour was incredible!

Mark gave us an amazing adventure through the Australian rainforest—fun, informative, and full of incredible wildlife. His energy and knowledge made the tour exciting from start to finish, and he knew just where to find the animals we hoped to see. My ten-year-old daughter absolutely loved it and talked about it all day. If you’re looking for a memorable and family-friendly rainforest experience, it was the perfect day!

We had an absolutely amazing day with Mark as our guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history, geography, wildlife and more. Mark went the extra mile to provide us with an experience that will be remembered forever.
I spent a great day with Mark that made me kick myself for wasting my time in zoos in Brisbane and Sydney. We began the day with a koala petting and photo op, and a quick visit with a cassowary. Followed by feeding wild wallabies, reviewing hundreds of giant fruit bats, and stalking the elusive platypus. Finishing up by spending quality time with 150 wild kangaroos. Mark was extremely knowledgeable and made the experience unforgettable by taking professional quality photos along the way.
Spending the day with Mark was a terrific experience and exceeded our expectations about the variety of wildlife and nature we could see and interact act with on our travels. He is extremely knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife of the area. Our adventure covered a wide area involved many close encounters with wallabies and kangaroos especially. Our close interactions with the kangaroos was a highlight of our trip that we will long remember and cherish.
We had a fantastic time on the tour led by Mark - we saw flying foxes (including a rescue pup!), a green tailed possum, freshwater turtles, many birds including stone curlews, and rock wallabies (which we fed!). Most of all we enjoyed our time with the Eastern Grey kangaroos - it was unbelievable that we would get up so close to them that we could see the faces of the joeys in the pouches! Mark was a knowledgeable tour guide and we learnt a lot about the local context which was very interesting. Really grateful to him for this excellent tour and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a wildlife tour around Port Douglas.
We had an amazing day with Mark as our private guide! We checked a few things off our bucket list — kola, kangaroos, and feeding the wallabies. We covered a lot of ground and saw so much Australian wildlife including the following: A Duck-billed Platypus close up. Endangered Spectacled fruit bats. An Emerald Dove. 2 species of Kangaroo and Wallaby; Hundreds of Eastern Grey Kangaroos (many with joeys in their pouches); Mareeba Rock Wallabies Koalas and Cassowaries at the Wildlife Habitat. Birdlife: a Stone curlews, Brush Turkeys, Kookaburra, Black kites, Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Peacocks, multi-coloured Crested pigeons. Strangler Curtain Fig tree. Saw-shelled turtles and Kreft's River turtles. Lake Barrine volcanic crater lake in the Rainforest. Granite Gorge Yungaburra village. I can’t forget our lunch stop at Lake Barrine was beautiful. We especially appreciated Mark taking pictures throughout the day, so we could enjoy the moment, and him sending to us afterwards.
An unbelievable experience! I can't recommend Blue Adventures enough. There isn't another tour company or guide we would ever even consider.
Mark was a very informative, well -read authority on the flora and fauna of Queensland. We had such an enjoyable day driving through rainforest and plateau regions as he explained the environment that we were experiencing. Saw Wallabies, kangaroos,Koalas, birds , tree bats. We even saw the elusive Platypus. 4 platypuses at riverside at one viewing !! Overall a great day experiencing Australia !
