Welkom bij Silver Lake! Deze artistieke wijk is een van de coolste plekken die je kunt bezoeken in Los Angeles. Silver Lake is de thuisbasis van beroemdheden, restaurants, winkelen en enkele van LA's beste verborgen street art. Deze wandeling van 3 mijl brengt u op en neer verschillende verborgen trappen in het gebied. Het is een geweldige workout en onderweg zie je beroemde locaties zoals de Micheltorena Stairs, die "de meest Instagrammed trap ter wereld" worden genoemd. Tijdens de tour leer je de fascinerende geschiedenis van deze buurt en LA als geheel kennen. Leer over William Mulholland en Griffith J. Griffith, hun verhalen kunnen je verrassen! Terwijl we lopen, maak je ook tonnen foto's! Ik ben graag uw persoonlijke fotograaf, zodat u geen opname mist. En de buurt staat vol met geweldige plekken voor foto's. Of u nu wilt poseren met de kunst of gewoon het uitzicht wilt vastleggen, deze tour is geweldig voor foto's.
Begin de tour door het bezoeken van de meest bekende en gemakkelijkst te vinden trap. De opvallende regenboogkleuren en hartjes op deze muurschildering trekken locals en bezoekers van over de hele wereld. Daarom worden deze trappen ook wel "de meest Instagrammed trap ter wereld" genoemd! Je leert over de oorsprong van de kunst als illegaal vandalisme en hoe het een monumentaal kunstwerk werd. Je hoort ook van de persoon die de trap onderhoudt voor de gemeenschap (hint : zij kunnen de rondleiding leiden!)
Wat zou een LA tour zijn zonder een beetje filmgeschiedenis? Onze beroemdste trappen langs de route zijn misschien niet geschilderd, maar ze hebben wel een Oscar! We bezoeken de site van de Laurel en Hardy film 'The Music Box'. Ik zal je zelfs een korte clip uit de film laten zien en hilariteit zal volgen.
Na het passeren van de Music Box Steps, zien we een beetje drukke Sunset Blvd.U krijgt de beste tips voor welke restaurants te eten en waar te winkelen zodra de tour is afgelopen! Dit drukke stuk Sunset is vol met award winnende restaurants - misschien zien we zelfs een beroemdheid die incognito probeert te blijven terwijl ze een vistaco pakken! Van daaruit sloegen we weer een geverfde trap op!
Tijd om weer een trap te beklimmen! Deze trap heeft een beetje drama achter zijn oprichting en de betrokken kunstenaars. Dat is een verhaal voor de tour zelf, we zouden geen roddels online willen verspreiden! Deze prachtige geschilderde trap heeft een grote muurschildering met pianothema op zijn 90 trappen (bijna perfect voor de 88 toetsen die op een standaard pianoklavier te vinden zijn) Het is een beetje een zware wandeling naar de top, maar dan hebben we een lekkere ontspannen wandeling zonder trappen voor een tijdje.

Chris is an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly, lives in the area so has personal experience along with relevant history. This experience has everything we wanted: good exercise, interesting history and stories, beautiful neighborhoods, friendly locals. This tour is highly recommended.

I have now done two tours with Chris. One with his charming dog, Odin coming along for the ride. Both have been super fun walks; very informative and the amount of facts that Chris packs into the tour is phenomenal. Great sunny SoCal day for a tour of the painted stairs in Silver Lake. Chris was a fantastic guide who was very knowledgeable of the artists who painted the stairs as well as some interesting history of the area. Highly recommend and we are LA locals!!
Chris is an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. He has a lot of interesting facts to share along the walks. This is our third time with him and we would definitely recommend him to tourists and locals looking for a fun tour. Our first experience with him was on a crime tour in DTLA on Halloween. We have actually done a few crime/haunted DTLA tours but his was definitely the best. We then did his Silverlake painted stairs tour and then Hollywood stairs. The Hollywood one may have been my favorite since I had no idea these stairs were there, it was fun seeing some amazing houses along the walk, and of course the views are nice. He has a tour of echo park that will be next on our list! Again, highly recommend!
Great walking tour with @seelainaday. Chris was extremely knowledgeable and kept everyone very safe. He was able to adjust the tour based on the group’s capabilities and still not miss anything. Chris’ knowledge and research was outstanding. We knew we would like the nice hike and to see the hidden painted stairs along with graffiti art but the beautiful homes we saw was an unexpected added bonus. Great location for hip LA restaurants. We had amazing tacos after @guizados just down Sunset. Highly recommend for native Angelos or sightseers. Look forward to other tours with Chris @seelainaday.
