U krijgt een uitstekende gelegenheid om een van de oudste wijnproducties in Moldavië te bezoeken: de wijnkelders van Cricova Winery, het meest bezocht in Moldavië. Het vertegenwoordigt een unieke ondergrondse stad, bekend over de hele wereld vanwege zijn enorme labyrinten van straten, en vooral vanwege zijn uitstekende wijnen. Het is ook een goede manier om het meest waardevolle natuurlijke en culturele erfgoed van Moldavië te bezoeken: het oude Orhei-reservaat, samen met het Curchi-klooster, een van de mooiste kloosters van ons land. Een volledige dagtour om de beste bezienswaardigheden van Moldavië te zien. Afhankelijk van het aantal boekingen kan de tour soms privé zijn of worden gedeeld met kleine groepen, tot 8-10 personen. Maar vanuit onze ervaring bestaan de meeste van onze groepen uit 3-4 of 5 personen.

We bezoeken het Curchi-kloostercomplex, dat op ongeveer 30 km van het Old Orhei-reservaat ligt. Culturele, religieuze en historische essentiële achtergrond van meer dan twee eeuwen maakt het Curchi-klooster tot een van de belangrijkste monumenten van de Moldavische religieuze architectuur.
Bezoek het populaire oude Orhei met zijn beroemde grotklooster, het etnografisch museum Butuceni uit het begin van de 20e eeuw, de ruïnes van de Tartaren-stad Shehr al-Djedid (14e - 16e eeuw). Het is gewoon een uniek natuurlijk en historisch complex in de open lucht.
Cricova Winery ligt op een diepte van 60-80 meter, wat neerkomt op een echte ondergrondse stad. Cricova Winery vertegenwoordigt een uniek ondergronds koninkrijk dat over de hele wereld bekend is door zijn enorme labyrinten, en vooral door zijn uitstekende wijnen. Hier zullen we een rondleiding van 2,5 uur hebben, inclusief excursie in de wijnafdelingen van Cricova en wijnproeverijen (3 soorten wijnen, noten, koekjes, water).
Tijd voor de lunch in een lokaal ouderwets restaurant, waar authentieke, ecologische Moldavische gerechten worden geserveerd. Fantastisch traditioneel eten tijdens een bezoek aan het etnische dorp.

The winery, which was lovely, and an essential part of the tour, was very crowded. While we started on time, the group was very large and it was very hard to hear our tour guide. We sped through the tunnels, hardly saw anything related to the wine making, and the tasting felt very rushed and I learned very little about what we were drinking. The stops before the winery were interesting and Natalie was a good guide but she did not accompany us in the winery.
Fantastic day out with a personable and knowledgeable guide. We had a fun time with our group, and really enjoyed seeing the countryside, the impressive and picturesque monastery, and Old Orhei. Lunch was perfect, eating outside on a covered terrace with a breeze, the traditional foods and setting was a great experience. Great menu, great options for food, and excellent photo opportunities. Our last stop, for the Cricova Winery tour and tastings was super fun, as wine tastings often are. The guide at Cricova was a funny personality, he did a great job with a big group, our time slot included around 30+ people. We tasted 7 wines, we loved the whites and roses, and the snack plate went perfectly with it all. Seeing the many miles of tunnels, including the cubbies built into the stone for the wine collections, is very cool. The day started around 09.30 with a pick up at our hotel, and we were dropped off sometime around 17.00 (after the wine, so not sure exactly!), the day went by quickly, it never felt too long, and we really appreciated seeing some highlights of Moldova outside of Chisinau. Highly recommend this tour!
We had an amazing guide and saw some of the most interesting places of Moldova around the capitol Chisinau. Also we had a friendly group.

Fantastic your, fantastic guide, loved it. Would highly recommend! Went on this tour with my sister and mum and it was amazing. Going at your own pace you get to see the amazing monastery, museums, tunnels and more and then you finish on the wine tour which was simply amazing, I would do it all over again. Moldova was beautiful covered in sunflowers lovely!

Prompt pickup with information put on WhatsApp. Glad they mentioned taking along sweater or jacket as Cricova Winery is underground and quite cool. Make sure to wear sneakers and not sandals as ground is rocky at Orhei Monastery.
Corina was wonderful. Her passion for Moldovan history and culture is impressive. The tour was well paced and informative.
A great day, Natalia is an excellent guide who was knowledgeable, friendly and very open to honest discussion around different questions. The sites visited were a great introduction to some of the best places in Moldova. We are looking forward to trying another tour with this operator in the future.
