Besakih-tempel is een tempelcomplex in het dorp Besakih, district Rendang Karangasem regentschap, Bali, Indonesië. Besakih complex bestaat uit 1 Pura Center (Penataran Besakih) en 18 Pura Assistants (1 en 17 Pura Pura Basukian Other). In Pura Basukian, in gebieden waar de ontvangst de eerste keer de openbaring van God is door Hyang Rsi Markendya, de voorloper van de huidige Agama Hindu Dharma in Bali, als centrum. Besakih staat centraal in de activiteiten van alle tempels op Bali. Onder alle doen alsof opgenomen in het complex Besakih, is Penataran de tempel van de grootste, meeste gebouwen pelinggihnya, de meeste soorten upakaranya en is het centrum en alle tempel in het tempelcomplex Besakih. In Penataran zijn er 3 belangrijkste tempelbeelden of symbolen van de natuur God Stana Tri Murti, namelijk Brahma, Vishnu en Shiva die God de Schepper, Onderhouder en de Godheid van Lord Fuser / Reincarnation typeren. Besakih opgenomen in de nominatielijst van UNESCO Werelderfgoed sinds 1995.
De Tirta Empul-tempel is een prachtig tempelcomplex en de heilige berglente in het dorp Manukaya in het centrum van Bali. De site dient als een legendarische setting van een traditioneel verhaal over goed versus kwaad, het is ook een nationale culturele erfgoedsite. Het complex gebouwd in 960 AD is ook een stille getuige van de oude Balinese koninkrijksjaren, vooral ten tijde van de Warmadewa-dynastie. Een andere nabijgelegen en prominente locatie bovenop een heuvel is het presidentiële paleis, Istana Tampaksiring, gebouwd tijdens de jaren van de eerste president van de natie, Soekarno.
Gunung Kawi Rocky Temple is een van de meest verbazingwekkende Balinese hindoeïstische tempel, om deze archeologische vindplaats te bereiken, moeten we een paar honderd stappen naar de vallei lopen. Er zijn een aantal winkels onderweg die typisch toeristisch spul verkopen, hoewel ze ook enkele unieke ambachten verkopen zoals het snijden van kokosnootschilfers en botten. Botgravures zijn inderdaad overal op Bali verkrijgbaar, maar komen oorspronkelijk uit dit dorp. Sommige getalenteerde beeldhouwers die gespecialiseerd zijn in het snijden van bot of zelfs ivoor komen uit dit gebied. Terwijl je verder naar beneden loopt, zullen je ogen blij worden van het prachtige uitzicht op de vallei.
Goa Gajah-tempel is een archeologische vindplaats van grote historische waarde die het een speciale plaats maakt om te bezoeken. Gelegen aan de koele westelijke rand van Bedulu Village, zes kilometer buiten het centrum van Ubud, heb je niet meer dan een uur nodig om af te dalen naar de met relikwieën gevulde binnenplaats en de rotswanden te bekijken, een centrale meditatiegrot, zwembaden en fonteinen. De naam van de tempel is enigszins misleidend en wekt de indruk dat het een gigantische woning vol olifanten is.

Very nice day, but long. Driver was polite. Long day driving from one place to another so cut out last two temples
Met with the nicest tour guide and we’re transport to all sites in clean and comfortable vehicle. Tours were safe, temples and their history were well explained. Tour guide and site guides took great pictures!

If you are interested in a tour to learn about the culture and history of the temples, and their significance in the Hindu religion, I would not recommend this tour. Our driver was great. He kept us safe on the road and delivered us to almost all of the stops (one was skipped, but we are not sure why). Unfortunately he was not a guide. He did not speak English and was unable to tell us about anything we were seeing. This is not a tour in the traditional sense, but a hired driver service. Which was a bit disappointing. We saw many beautiful temples but had no understanding of the cultural or relgious significance. In the end, everything was beautiful and our driver kind, but this was not the tour we expected.

Mr. Agus the driver was helpful and fun to be with. The tour visits 5 temples including the "Mother Temple" Besakih. This tour involves alot of walking and climbing stairs so wear comfortable shoes and bring a surong as required for entrance into Hindu temples. I highly recommend this tour with Agus.
