Ik ben een 22-jarige inwoner van de Mojave-woestijn en leg meer dan 500 mijl per jaar te voet af in Joshua Tree National Park. In de loop van de jaren en kilometers heb ik een besef van landschap, ecologische systemen en lokale cultuur ontwikkeld dat, wanneer het in de context van het pad wordt geplaatst, een verhalende ervaring wordt die ik graag wil delen. Ik belandde in Joshua Tree nadat ik in 2001 was gestopt met studeren. Ik sloot me aan bij de verzamelende personages, een assortiment vuilzakklimmers, avant-artiesten, praktische new age-visionairs en ondernemers... een amalgaam van identiteiten die het imago van de Hoge Woestijn zouden creëren dat tegenwoordig zo begeerd is. Het is mij wettelijk toegestaan om gids te zijn in Joshua Tree National Park en ik ben blij om je te ontvangen. Ik ken mijn spullen en ik wil dat jij het ook weet.

My guide Hollis was an absolute delight. She was incredibly knowledgeable and seemed to be able to gauge my energy level and adjust the hike accordingly. I enjoyed this immensely and it was worth every penny.
We spent a half day with Travis and loved every minute of the hike! Travis is a true expert in everything about Joshua Tree. He knows the trails, and chose one that suited us perfectly. He knows the history of the park, its geology, its plants, flowers and animals. He’s engaging and fun. It was like taking a masters class in one of the most beautiful places in the US! We highly recommended this tour!

Sarah is an excellent guide. She modified the experience to match our skill set. She was a great teacher, too , and engaged our son in learning. Overall would definitely do this again!
I highly recommend this tour to see the beautiful Joshua Tree National Park. I always learn so much about the parks and the history with a tour guide and this trip did not disappoint. Hopefully you will be lucky to be there when the ground is in bloom!

This was a wonderful hike. Hollis was an excellent guide ensuring that she was able to tailor a hike to our interests and abilities. We learned a lot about local flora and fauna, the sensitive desert eco system and gained a deeper understanding of the park origins. Hollis was great and I would highly recommend her for your next hike in the park.
We had a great time with Hollis as our guide. She shared a wealth of information about the plants, animals and terrain of Joshua Tree National Park. She took us off the beaten path to see some amazing sites. We even got to experience snow in the Park.
