Het Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve (Reserva Biologica del Bosque Nuboso de Monteverde) is waar enkele van de best bewaarde nevelwouden in heel Costa Rica te vinden zijn. Het is een nevelwoud, geen regenwoud, vanwege zijn hoogte van 1424 m boven de zeespiegel. Enkele van de beste vogelspotten kunnen binnen en buiten het reservaat worden gedaan. Het Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, opgericht in 1972, is een van de beroemdste reservaten ter wereld vanwege zijn biodiversiteit, instandhouding, bijdragen en wetenschappelijk onderzoek. Deze 3.500 hectare grond bezit 2,5% van de biodiversiteit van de wereld en het is een van de belangrijkste privé-reservaten in Costa Rica. Je naturalistische gids neemt je mee op goed onderhouden paden om je te laten zien en je te leren over het belang van het nevelwoud en zijn unieke microklimaat. Het is redelijk om in gedachten te houden dat dit een privéreserve is voor natuurbehoud.

Really had a great time understanding the cloud forest and see the diverse flora and fauna. Was able to see the Quetzel and armadillo. The hummingbird gallery thing at the end was a nice end to the tour. Greibin was an amazing tour guide
Loved it, great guide, Justin! Go with him and you cannot go wrong. We say quetzl even and got amazing pictures and learnt a lot about the plants and birds.
Our tour guide Justin led us through the reserve and spotted and explained many plants fungi and animals such as an eagle and tarantula. It was a magical experience and Justin is a fantastic guide.

We hiked through the Monteverde Cloud Forest with Justin and it was an amazing experience. From the first moment he conveyed his passion for nature and his great knowledge about the flora and fauna of the place. Thanks to him we were able to observe animals that we would not have seen otherwise, including the quetzal, considered one of the most beautiful birds in the world! Each explanation helped us to further appreciate the beauty of the forest, and also Justin made the tour very enjoyable and fun.
