Het Bahia-paleis werd eind 19e eeuw gebouwd door Si Moussa, een rijke Marokkaanse edelman die als grootvizier van sultan Hassan I diende. Na de dood van Si Moussa werd het paleis geërfd door zijn zoon Bou Ahmed. Bou Ahmed breidde het paleis uit, voegde meer kamers, tuinen en binnenplaatsen toe en noemde het uiteindelijk Bahia, wat ‘schittering’ betekent.
De Saadian-graven in Marrakech, Marokko zijn een prachtig voorbeeld van de rijke geschiedenis en cultuur van het land.
