Begeleide ebike-tour over boswegen en paden in de buurt van Riga

Veel plezier en verander van drukke stedelijke omgeving naar prachtige natuur, net aan de rand van Riga. Ga met gemak op ebike gemotoriseerd fietsen op bospaden en wegen. We beginnen onze reis vanaf de Brandwachttoren, waar u een prachtig panoramisch uitzicht heeft op de omliggende bossen, weilanden en de hoogste gebouwen van Riga. Onze reis vindt plaats in een gebied omgeven door lange duinruggen, die zo'n 10 kilometer lang en 0,4 tot 1,5 kilometer breed zijn. Buurtbewoners noemen deze duinstrook ‘Sahara van Riga’. In tegenstelling tot de Sahara-duinen zijn de duinen van Riga bedekt met aangeplante dennenbossen. Deze duinen zijn een natuurlijk monument van Letland. We gaan helemaal naar de Witte Duin van Jūrmala, een grote zandduin aan de oever van Lielupe en een van de mooiste beschermde natuurlijke objecten in Jūrmala. We sluiten onze reis af op ons startpunt.

De tour begint bij de Bumbu Kalnins (Bomb Hill) vuurobservatietoren, die een panoramisch platform heeft dat open is voor bezoekers. Er is een weids panoramisch uitzicht op Riga en de omliggende bossen. Bomb Hill is de historische plaats waar de commandopost van de Latgale-divisie van het Letse leger was gevestigd. Op 1 november 1919 ondertekende kolonel Krišjānis Berķis het bevel om de operatie te starten om Pardaugava te bevrijden, vervolgens werd op 11 november Riga bevrijd en tot 1 december was heel Letland bevrijd van het leger van Bermont. De tour gaat door dennenbos, je ziet de rivieren Bullupe en Lielupe en een van de grootste duinen in Latvija - de witte duin, die 17 meter hoog is, vlakbij de rivier de Lielupe. White Dune is een van de mooiste beschermde natuurobjecten van Jūrmala.

We absolutely loved our bike excursion in the forested area near Riga! It was a perfect break from the hustle of city tourism, the trees are like a fairy tale and the air is fresh and fragrant! Pauls showed us some chantarelle mushrooms to pick and (my favorite part) wild blueberries! The bikes are super fun as well, make sure to speed up when you hit the sand so you don’t go wobbly! We enjoyed seeing the beach and the individualized pace of the tour was great—stop more or less depending on your preference! Great conversation throughout!
This was an excellent experience. I highly recommend for anyone. The forest ride was beautiful and Pauls was an amazing guide. Using the E Bikes made the experience even more fun. A perfect way to experience the nature of Latvia.
This tour is a perfect alternative to experience Riga and the white dunes that makes the Latvian nature. This ebike tour was so much fun and we will 100 pct. recommend! Our host Paul was excellent in explaining the equipment and he was very considerate. He adjusted the trip to our level and wishes. Paul told us about Latvian history and the landscapes that we biked through. The nature was so beautiful and racing through the forest in between trees and hills is an extraordinary feeling of freedom.
A nice mix of peaceful paths and slightly extreme bumps and dunes. Very picturesque views and a great getaway from the city noise.
New experience always fun. Something between cycle and small moped. Forests trails have nice relief. You can drive easy or chose bit extreme sped to get adrenaline up:)

In Riga for a long weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday and decided to get out of the city to see what the local countryside was like! The guided tour offered by Pauls became the highlight of our trip, we had so much fun zooming round the forest trails on his e-bikes, the view points he took us to were beautiful as was the woodland we meandered through. Pauls was very friendly, knew all about the local area and reall helped put a couple of the more nervous riders at ease with his calm demeanour and clear instruction.
A great way to see another side of Riga. We had so much fun! Pauls was a great guide and helped a couple of us feel more confident on the Ebike. Would definitely recommend if you want to get away from the city and find some peace and quiet.
