Beatles Walking Tour of London

We beginnen bij waarschijnlijk de beroemdste kruising ter wereld bij Abbey Road, op slechts een paar meter van de Abbey Road Studios, en bezoeken vervolgens het huis van Sir Paul McCartney die er al meer dan 50 jaar woont. Een korte reis op de buis brengt ons naar chic en chique Mayfair en hij zal verschillende huizen en plaatsen bezoeken die belangrijk zijn voor het verhaal van The Beatles, waaronder de kantoren waar velen van hen trouwden, het voormalige huis van John Lennon en vervolgens het enige huis waar ze allemaal woonden na aankomst uit Liverpool. Naar Piccadilly om de locatie van hun laatste openbare optreden te zien voordat ze door de levendige wijk Soho wandelen, die bekend en nog steeds bekend staat om zijn muziek en entertainment, om te zien waar The Beatles enkele van hun memorabele outfits hebben gemaakt, waar hun beroemde logo is ontworpen en veel meer. Dit was het huis van de familie Asher. Toen Paul bij zijn vriendin Jane introk, werd de kelder omgebouwd tot een opnamestudio en het is hier waar veel nummers zoals Yesterday en I Want To Hold Your Hand staan.
Ringo verhuurde dit huis en verhuurde de kelder aan John en Yoko. Veel beroemde gebeurtenissen vonden hier plaats, waaronder de beroemde drugsinval waarbij ze allebei werden gearresteerd. (5 uur tour versie alleen)
Dit huis werd gekocht door Brian Epstein voor The Beatles na hun tweede nummer 1-hit, She Love You. Het enige huis waar ze allemaal samen woonden. (5 uur tour versie alleen)
Deze straat is bekender om zijn fijne maatwerk, maar het was hier dat The Beatles het Apple-label creëerden en hun laatste optreden samen speelden.

Great historical perspective of the evolution of music during this era. To see the various locations of provenance was fun.

If you are into the history of the Beatles and other bands in the 60’s & 70’s, this is the tour to take. Kevin has so much knowledge, not just about bands, but about everything London. It was a pleasure to have taken this tour with Kevin who is so passionate about history. Enjoyed this tour immensely.

I highly recommend this tour especially if Kevin is your tour guide. This gentleman’s passion for history truly shows in the amount of information he shared with me during our tour. I signed up for this tour expecting only Beatles related stuff to be discussed with me but Kevin proved to me that London is truly a city so rich in history. Not only did we discuss the Beatles but we also went over other highly influential figures in British music, political, military and literary history based on the numerous city streets and alleys we walked. In the almost 4 hours I spent with Kevin, there never truly was a dull moment.
