Mont Saint Michel is een werkelijk opmerkelijke plek in de wereld met een rijke geschiedenis die teruggaat tot 708 na Christus toen het eerste gebouw op dit eiland werd gebouwd. Lena gave my wife andI an incredible private tour of Mont Saint Michel from Bayeux. Lena pours her heart and head into her work. She has a passion for Mont Saint Michel, and is truly an historian of the island and abbey. And what an incredible place it is! Notre Dame is an historic cathedral. Lena outsmarted the crowd — after Paris, MSM is the second most visited venue in France — by taking a different route to the top of the abbey and then down through it. Mont Saint Michel was the last — and best — day of our three week tour of France. For us, it topped the French Riviera, was better than the poppies in bloom in Provence, better than our memorable 5-star food tour of Montmartre in Paris. Only the Normandy D-Day beaches and the American Cemetery above Omaha beach rivaled Mont Saint Michel.
