Als u in een comfortabele en luxe auto van Londen naar de Romeinse baden reist, kunt u een heerlijke reis van ongeveer 3 uur maken. Wanneer u Londen verlaat, passeert u charmante plattelandslandschappen en schilderachtige dorpjes, waarbij u zich onderdompelt in de schoonheid van het Engelse platteland. Geniet van de vlotte rit en de verwachting van het verkennen van de schilderachtige tour door de historische stad Bath. Afhankelijk van uw optie hebben we 20 minuten van Roman Bath naar Lacock City of Castle Combe. Bij onze terugkeer uit Lacock of Castle Combe kan de schilderachtige route terug 3 uur duren, afhankelijk van de verkeersomstandigheden. Geniet van een schilderachtige rondleiding door de historische stad Bath, oorspronkelijk meer dan 2000 jaar geleden door de Romeinen gebouwd als een plaats van welzijn en ontspanning. Onze schilderachtige rondleiding door Bath biedt een uitstekende introductie tot de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden van deze prachtige stad, waaronder Pulteney Bridge, The Assembly Rooms en Bath Abbey. Daarna bezoekt u de beroemde Romeinse baden, de thuisbasis van de enige natuurlijke thermale warmwaterbronnen van Groot-Brittannië. De Romeinse baden zelf liggen onder het moderne straatniveau. Er zijn vier hoofdkenmerken: de Heilige Bron, de Romeinse tempel, het Romeinse badhuis en het museum met vondsten uit het Romeinse bad. De gebouwen boven straatniveau dateren uit de 19e eeuw.
Lacock Lacock, slechts vier mijl ten zuiden van Chippenham, is waarschijnlijk het mooist bewaarde dorp in de Cotswolds. Slenter langs dit typische Engelse dorp waar in 200 jaar weinig is veranderd met straten vol vakwerkhuizen en zelfstandige winkels. Kijk uit naar de 14e-eeuwse tiendenschuur in Lacock dorp ooit gebruikt door de nonnen van Lacock om graan op te slaan. Gebouwd met blokken kalksteenpuin die een dak met kromframe ondersteunen. Lacock village wordt veel gebruikt in middeleeuwse en fantasy drama's zoals Harry Potter, en film- en televisieproducties zoals Downton Abbey. De vakwerkhuizen van dit dorp in Wiltshire zorgen voor dat authentieke straatbeeld.

Our guide Fernando picked us up at our apartment on Piccadilly promptly in the morning. He explained some of the sights we passed while leaving London and provided a nice restaurant recommendation. Along the route he let us have our own conversation, but from time to time he gave us more English history and Culture. We loved Bath and Fernando’s explanations and private tour. We were really pleased with Castle Comb in the Cotswold - Fernando pointed out many attractions that we would not have found without him. A very enjoyable day.
